as the Arche Seleukeia, having restored and expanded Alexander's empire, to maintain a "Royal Army" that travels with the Basileus/Kleronomos Basileus containing solely the elite of the elite? Normally for RP purposes I don't like having stacks and stacks of Argyraspides, but as my power is at its zenith and I am rolling in money, I thought I could treat myself.

Anyway, for those of you who abide by this semi-house rule, would the following army (only one of them) be okay?

1 FM (only leader/heir)
2 Hypaspistai
6 Argyraspides
3 Hetairoi
2 "Rhodian Slingers"
3 Sreni Patta Yoddha
1 Peltastai Makedonikoi
1 Taxilan Agema
1 Thorakitai Agematos Basilikou


I know it's weird, asking for permission, I just like the historically-accurate feel you get from using Pandas/Klercs as your main force, instead of spamming Praetorians like those dirty Romans.

You know what, you could definitely steam roll with that army.

Send it through Egypt, Carthage, Numidia and right into spain and that would become some crazy role playing. Plus, you can only rely on Mercs for replenishing troops on your way to Iberia. Shoot, if you want, keep it going and show up Hannibal all the way to Rome. That would be INSANE!!! well, I guess that's enough Pipe Dreaming from my end.

Haven't quite managed that just yet. Lusotanna has managed to subdue Italy, but I parachuted in next to Lilibeo and rescued the last Romani settlement so I'm kind of wandering around Italy/Southern Gaul, torching various cities , restoring the Romani as my protectorate and destroying the terrible, terrible Iberian infantry they send against me (although my heavier infantry don't enjoy their falcatas)

The Lusotannan bodyguards though, they know how to troll...

One of the bolded ones. Also IMO your amry isNT standardised enough tHose 3 unit bolded should really be 1 type.

meh, I like having a variety of units. I suppose the Peltastai will go, as the TAB are simply better than any unit in the entire game.

Having less units is more efficiant becasue its easier to retrain them, and uniformity looks much nicer.

I'd tend to agree with you, but the Seleukids get so many units for each role it's kind of difficult to narrow down to one unit.

Money isnt a problem for the AS at the stage your at so chhose the best ones.
