    Default If you had to pick *only* ten unique cities for MTW:

    Which cities in MTW2 (10 maximum) do you think should be modelled as unique cities... the others being randomized or whatever for the game. My picks:

    Rome
    Venice
    Byzantium/Constantinople
    Alexandria
    Jerusalem
    Paris (Maybe Orleans though)
    London
    Prague
    Kiev
    Buda-Pest

    Agh! I limited myself to only 10 so many more I'd like to see, but my bet is if we're LUCKY there will be 10 cities unique inthegame, but more likely only 5... I left of any cities in Spain...Germany (important! HRE!)...Swabia, North Africa, the Asia Minor... RHODES... grr... Cyprus... the Netherlands...) only 10 cities HURTS!

    Ok, you try next- what do you agree/disagree with and what are your choices?

    I mostly agree with you mate, but I would rather kick off Kiev for Bagdad. I haven't heard of a limit before, but Im sure the modders can do something about it

    I don't think it's that there would be a limit. I think it's that CA wouldn't take the time to put more than a few unique cities in, I'm sure it's very time consuming. Have they even said they're considering doing any unique cities though? I haven't heard that.

    Nice idea for a topic! I would choose those most likely to be heavily fought over:

    Jerusalem
    Constantinople
    Damascus
    Antioch
    Alexandria

    Since I only really know of Crusader Era history, that's all I could say for certain.

    Heh... IF there's a way to mod in unique cities you can BET EVERY city will eventually be MODDED to be unique in the game... do you HEAR ME CA?! Make some unique cities to earn your paychecks... but make DARN SURE you keep it possible to mod in our own city maps. We'll do the work! (And we'll do it better anyway).

    I'd rather have Novgorod than Kiev. Its walls are just so breathtaking.

    Id prolly add Florence too. Possibly one of the most influential cities in the late Medieval era.

    If you add Firenza you must remove one... which one?

    Buda-Pest or maybe London. Not sure either were terribly important at this time.

    No way will CA do a model of Venice, that is just pure fantasy. Firstly they would have to make Venice an island city, which would be very difficult and pratically impossible to have it invaded (unless they bring in an amphibious assault feature, which would be unlikely) and secondly because it would take a phenomenal amount of work to build a city with so many canals, which would also render assaults extremely difficult.

    BTW, where do you get the info that there will be unique towns?

    Jerusalem
    Rome
    Kiev
    Novgorod
    London
    Paris

    Tenochtitlan. It must have been beautiful.
    From the pride and arrogance of the Romans nothing is sacred. But the vindictive gods are now at hand. On this spot we must either conquer, or die with glory (Boudiccas Speech, Tacitus, Annals, XIV, 35)

    I like this pick. That city was so complex, and so unique compared to the cities of Europe. I think it would be a great choice.

    My picks:
    For the Crusades-

    Jerusalem
    Antioch
    Alexandria
    Constantinople
    Baghdad

    For the Early-Middle Period
    Rome
    Prague
    Novgorod
    Granada
    Krakow

    For the Late Period
    Vienna
    London
    Tenochtitlan
    Budapest
    Paris

    ~~
    A list of ten
    Jerusalem
    Antioch
    Constantinople
    Rome
    Paris
    Prague
    Vienna
    London
    Tenochtitlan
    Novgorod

    ~~~~
    List of Five
    Jerusalem
    Constantinople
    Rome
    Tenochtitlan
    Paris
    ~~
    I chose the five based of uniqueness and importance. Jerusalem is a must, with its key role in the crusades and its amazing structure. Constantinople, for the same reasons. Think about seeing the mighty defenses, and the split-city over the bosporous.
    Rome- mostly because I want to see a unique Rome with all the architecture. Same goes for Tenochtitlan. And Paris to round out the list, not because I would want to see it (I'd rather put Prague or Novgorod, heck even Krakow for its importance in the history of Eastern Europe) but because everyone loves the city and they would make it unique.
    Hard to pick 10 cities, but Constantinople must be in.
    10 cities/towns not mentioned here this far
    Valetta
    Brugge
    Toledo
    Aleppo
    Bergen
    York
    Avignon
    Uppsala
    Lisbon
    Konigsberg
    Not necessarily the most important, but interesting indeed. Just stating that there are alot if interesting cities all over Europe. CA should atleast have 1 uniqe city per culture. Cities in the chatolic and ortodox world should be divided into northern and southern culture.
