Problem With Campaign Set-up in Stainless Steel 6.4

So, I installed SS 6.3 and everything seems to be fine. I got through the installation alright, set-up an Early Era campaign and even played a custom battle to make sure everything had been installed and configured correctly. Then I installed SS 6.4 and every time I try to configure an Early Era campaign using the game's set-up I get an error message that says "Error while trying to create a temporary file. Operation aborted.". Now, I can disregard this error and attempt to start the game in any case, but it crashes after putting up the initial splash screen.

I am using Windows Vista. So, any ideas guys?
