@Zames, Alpaca used the same map orientation for the mod Italia Invicta. Now you can't escape to make a correct Provence...
This region was quite interesting about the social life in its cities, so lot of features(scripts and buildings) made eventually for italian cities can be transposed as well to Marseille, Arles, and smaller ones according the number of provinces you plan to give to this region.

Sneak peek to the new map, here's Sicily! I still have to add settlements, and I have also to learn well hot to smooth coasts (I'm practicing). Textures are all by me.

maybe you could use ligther more yellowish textures, since this is Mediteranead climate, earth is red, and whole countryside is generaly more green-yellow than dark green... Just a suggestion.

That looks good but does this mean you completely dumped the old map and started this one from scratch??

The "volcanic" part is fine as well
    Its looks true

In fact, Sicilia is really a fertile island inside the backcountry, at least his dark green texture is good for autumn and spring, only coasts should be like a desert with bushes. Ah...anyway, the game don't switch of map texture according the season(speaking about flora, not about snow)

That's exactly what I tried first, but the result didn't satisfy me, so I decided to use more greenish textures (according what Giacomo says about fertility and also after I have seen a satellite image of Italy which was more green than I expected).

Exactly, the new map is made from scratch (I had to rotate completely the area I wanted to represent); this will allow me to represent better the Italian political situation, and also to delete Hafsids and Hungary, which had anything to do with Italian situation of the period, Tunis will be a rebel region which I'll use for the event of the VIIIth Crusade. Deleting Hafsids and Hungary will also allow me to not represent them in a bad way
The more updated faction list at the moment is this one:
    1. Kingdom of Sicily
    2. Papal State
    3. Counts of Provence (Anjou)
    4. Commune of Genoa
    5. House Fieschi
    6. Commune of Milano
    7. House Visconti
    8. Republic of Venice
    9. Giudicato of Arborea
    10. Republic of Pisa
    11. Republic of Firenze
    12. Republic of Siena
    13. Republic of Arezzo
    14. Commune of Perugia
    15. County of Urbino
    16. Republic of Ancona
    17. Lords of the March of Treviso
    18. County of Savoy
    19. Commune of Parma
    20. Commune of Asti
    21. March of Monferrato
    22. Patriarchate of Aquileia
    23. Lordship of Ferrara
    24. Kingdom of France (I have to check if there will be the space to make it not spawn)
    25. Kingdom of Aragon (spawn)
    26. Holy Roman Empire
    27. Rebels/Indipendent powers

I have four free slots, one will surely go to Commune of Bologna, which was a powerful State in Po Valley. I still don't know how to use the remaining three, I'll maybe split the HRE as it was at the beginning of the project, but in the area I'm representing there would be only Gorizia (which maybe was really more indipendent) and the Habsburg family. What do you think I could do, any suggestion?

I'm not sure about the limits of your map, but taking in count the mini-map(which don't seems to reach the Rhône river), you can't put the Kingdom of France at the start with cities, generals...etc. Just the King Louis IX have to spawn.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

At 1255, the lone important fief that a frenchman holds in the HRE is Provence under Charles of Anjou. Others don't have so much importance, and strong rebels would be better.
My suggestion would be to put Grenoble under the Leman, as capital of the "Dauphiné du Viennois", the most important fief of this area after Provence and Savoie.
Here you can see the location of Grenoble(map is 1477 but don't mind, borders didn't changed that much, only the fiefholders did)

Thanks Giacomo, useful informations as always I still don't exactly know where my map arrives in the north, but on left border it should touch Arles. I'll think if add also the Dauphiné as a faction, I'm reading something on the web and I see that it was very important in the politics of the area (there were many marriages between Savoy and Dauphiné, and also between Montferrat and Dauphiné).

New map screens: new Sardinia and Corsica!
Note: Corte shouldn't be in (it didn't exist in XIIIth century), I've already replaced it with Aleria, a settlement on the eastern coast of the island.

We don't call Corsica "Isle of Beauty" for nothing...

"New" Sicily with settlements. I hope to be faster with the map, I cannot wait to begin working on units.

Do you plan to get named PSFs like Housekeeper did in Machiavello?

No, I wanted at first but I decided not to put PSF.
I've noticed that AI doesn't work well with all those false settlements (it doesn't defend them with garrisons, for example) and they aren't really useful in my mind.

They're usefull, but only with smart scripts. Sure, if you just put PSFs as well as they're in most mods, it will not work.
Anyway, we should wait the release of Dots to judge, its perhaps me who is a bit optimistic about PSFs...

I just remembered this mod, and found your wonderful map screenshots, well done and +rep
"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."

I'm afraid you'll have to wait long.
