Well obiously, in a map focused in this time frame and in Italy there's no much place for muslim factions, but apart from Hafsids you should maybe choose the Kingdom of Sicily: starting with Manfred, you will have wonderful CSUR Lucera Saracens available

A very interesting time frame for an Italian history based mod, great idea. The factions and maps are very good too. Keep the good work. +rep.

    Cheers

I usually go for the small factions. Easier to expand and you dont have to micromanage an empire from the start. So my first faction choice will be a hard one .

Speaking of minor factions why don't you put the Swiss Confederation in the north instead of the HRE? Just a thought.

I have two reasons: first, at the start date there was already a sort of alliance between some of communities, but that was not for indipendence but to reach autonomy but under HRE's rule, and also the Federal Charter, which was written in 1291, was the alliance of three cantons of Central Switzerland.
The second reason is that I need HRE to represent, if there will be conditions in campaign, the young Conradin who claimed Sicily after the Angevine conquest.

Updated, pics of berrovieri added; berrovieri were medium-light cavalry, or better, mounted infantry, which is a bit different; I've equipped my berrovieri with corresponding "poor" weapons of milites and stipendiari (falchions instead of swords, rough axe and mace models).

"How make Three-Cantons Rebels out the limits of faction"

You can even script "rebel" swiss, in vanilla, they have already one slot(Swiss_Pikemen Mercs), and at this time, the high-mountain cantons didn't were supported by the huge swiss cities(thats happend after Morgaten battle 1315AD)
Swiss mountainers haven't armored troops, only:
    Pikemen(not a greek phalanx though...)
    Crossbowmen(take your "peasant crossbowmen")
inside Pikemen ranks there should have slashing weapon users(cudgels, big sticks...), but its not allowed with MTW2. In such case, a peasant unit style religious-fanatic-pilgrim-tabardarya would represent the ancestors of the Morgenstern Milicia.

This one can fit to early swiss:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Add an officer style berrovieri(no need to put a white cross, or bull or anything), and you will ok about the "early swiss faction"

Thanks for the hints Rus, I was already thinking about maybe spawning rebels or somewhat but you gave me the right informations to do this +rep

Also, I wanna make great State which have dominions beyond the map respawning if defeated, to represent the fact that they were not really dead.

Very nice crossbowmen +rep So all these units that you are posting now are the generic units for all the communal armies right? Are there going to be units with specific coat of arms or units specific for some factions only. Im thinking for example of Genoese Crossbowmen or Venetial Colonial Infantry.

Exactly, this is a base roster; where I can find, I'll add unique units to some factions as you said, and also mercenary units available only for some factions and in buildings, not in the country; for example, dalmatian mercenaries will be available on Adriatic and Dalmatian coasts, but not for example in Sardinia or Liguria, muslim mercenaries in Southern Italy maybe (but not only there, Ezzelino III Da Romano had many saracens in his service).

Also, some units could depende from buildings and religion, and if historically a faction had contacts with other powers which are not in the map, for instance Ancona, which had always contacts with Byzantine Empire, Genoa, which in 1266 had the port of Caffa in Crimea (and I wanna add a mission or a "yes/no" script to make the player choice if he wants to have it).

Unique and different rosters will be: Sicilian, Arborea, Hafsids, Hungary, Serbia, France (similar to Anjou), and partially HRE, Gorizia and Austria.

From now on unfortunately work will go slowlier cause of RL issues, but I'll lead this project to a release

I'd be willing to do AOR for Croatia, both its southern part - Dalmatia and northern part - Slavonia

like 4 units or so, just to represent ethnic population of region

    This sounds good
If you can give me historical informations and images, I'll create the needed units

Well all help is needed there, the only thing is that I cannot add "real" cities in that area but only PSF to simulate them, but I don't know who can I ask to help me...the only real thing that I need is a map of the area with right positions of settlements, informations about borders and about which ones were the most important.

Hi there, sorry the lack of updates during past days, but I had to study and I'm re-working helmets' textures, 'cause the ones I've put aren't good at all (and is better doing this tedious work first than after); also, I'm looking for informations about Hungarian settlements (I have some map up to now, I'll try to use them).

Anyway, next unit I'll show will be the most famous medieval italian unit (with crossbowmen obviously): palvesarii spearmen
