Gondor vs Dwarfs help needed

Hi guys
havnt have chance to fight dwarfs as Gondor until recently (post victory turn 700)

Dwarf just defeated Rohan and conquered the entire Northern half of the map
I decided to go to war with them, however

On Field
The vs orc effective "bodyguards kill general/charge" tactic does not went well, they just dont rout
also, the skarmish archers tactic is acceptable but i simple dont have enough archers in all fronts
finally, cavalry charge is....forget it

In Seige
I can see no way then sally out
I ballista them as much as I could but is very painful, especially in newly conquered/non choke point settlement
(**it seems to me that the "burning oil" feature has been removed, i guess some oil for the dwarfs can makes some different**)

so how would you vs dwarf as Gondor?? much thanks for your help
(dwarfs travels with half to full stack, mixed with iron guard, cross bow, nobleman, axe man and warden, everystack looks crazily elite)

Use your elite archers (Ithilien Rangers, Blackroot Vale archers etc) and choke them in fords, mountain passes etc. They have better infantry and higher stamina, disciplin, stats, but you have something they dont; cavalry. Use preferably Swan Knights to break their lines, and before they can attack back, you retreat your soldiers. Catch them between the hammer and the anvil

I would say spam Pelargir marines and other AP units, that and missiles.

I recommend that you forge seven rings of power and secretly forge a mast....

Seriously though I think that the key, as stated before, is in missiles and cavalry but also siege equipment. I would let flaming ballistas loose on their Generals Bodyguard while bogging them down/dividing them with skirmishing archers and inflicting losses with cavalry charges. On the bright side, I would feel more confident fighting the dwarves as gondor than as mordor!

Attack with 1 general and 19 of them... the battles will be "a bit" boring but easy as hell!
Just make sure skirmish mode is turned on!

As people have said use range superiority and calvalry charges at flanks. From the sound of things you don't have armies at the front that are outfitted to fight dwarves so what you may have to do pull back from the front and reorgonize your armies to take back the territories you lost and advance from there.

I usually play with Rhun and use these tribesmen... they are cheap and smash every dwarven army ( on skirmish mode)!

Yes, against Dwarves you need a lot of AP so artillery, skirmishers (snagas don't have AP I think) and fountain guard, I don't think the Lossarnach axemen will be very effective seeing they are similar to low tier Dwarven units. Furthermore cav charge and retreat and spam high tier archers to weaken them

The farthest I've played is something like 200... Though my best campaigns have been as Gondor, Arnor, and Isengard

i decided to camp in peace so i have tried sth new: rohan n S.elfs have been my agents doing evil deeds (pay + attack faction) went well until dwarfs owns them XD

sure, i wanna share the map, yet still learning how to post image so i will just describe it first
Gondor owns the south, harad n mordor lands, small "provinces" around moria and hobbitton and the whole North West (where high elves were) p.s south mordor did turn green (dark green i should say)

dale allied with dwarfs and owns where Rhun where
dwarfs owns the rest of the whole Northen campain map and Rohan and S.elfs land

rohan, s.elf and high elfs only have 1 settlement left

Nah, you don't need AP to beat the Dwarves. If you can beat them with the Orcs of the Misty Mountains, you can beat them with Gondor. Shoot them as much as possible before they get closer, then charge them in the back with cavalry.

Well, you can also win an elven campaign without archers but they make it so damn easier.

can you post your .sav? Please? And BtW... never fought the dwarves as the humans... in my campaigns by about turn 200 theres nothing but orcs all over the map.. and Rhun.. Rhun and orcs... no matter who i play... orcs and Rhun... Would be sweet to have some great "Alliance"(to use a lame World of Warcraft reference) factions waging war with eachother.

I have never really battled dwarves, but I have taken over most of the map with them. They are pretty invincible and in the late game dont really need cav. Their armor is too strong for most Gondor archers (Less you have crossbows... dont remember if Gondor has crossbows or not)) but you need armor peircing weps... I would spam catapults and Trebs... atleast 4 of them in every army... with halberdier or cheap axemen... ANYTHING that can charge fast and break down armor... you wont be able to match lines with them... they march through everything... Use the trees.. hide men in the woods and let them march into a trap then flank them... they are easily flanked due to being slow (through they are so uber they can be flanked and still maintain a managable line.) Smashing flaming Rocks into their lines is your best bet... they pack together real tight an that makes them vunerable to art fire... think how many shield walled dwarves are taken out by a flaming treb. round. I wouldn't field much cav other then shock and gather value.... smashing flanks and collecting routing troops, but I found when i fought the Harad, the Rhun and Rohan with the dwarves that cav is worthless agaisnt them... especially if they field a lot of shield wall units and pike units (which is what they usually field late game) also their crossbows will tear through your cav.. as well as your heavy inf while your bows will bounce off their armor... Its a tough call though...
