I absolutely hate the distance you can currently travel, I wanna know you can increase the range of movement (green area). Like im talkin moving a unit from England to like Hungary in one turn lol.

Hi
I think that might diminish the 'historical accuracy' of the game a bit, no?
On the other hand, the campaign map movement system isn't exactly sophisticated.
Bottom line: as far as I know there's no way of changing the campaign map's land movement rates.
Best regards

Yeah I dig historical accuracy an all but me and my friends are extremely impatient people who want to accomplish things much faster lol instead of arriving in the middle east from europe 30 years after the crusades is launched.
I heard something about looking in the rar files called "data" etc. but when I click it, it tells me the file is unknown or damaged??

I'm pretty sure romschomp is actually referring to Medieval 2, not the original MTW.![]()

Thread moved from MTW GD forums to M2TW GD forums.
Do it via console command, otherwise mod it, although this will lead to a lot of problems.
Do this:
bring up console by pressing the key that has ' or @ on it.
then type in this:
character_reset "General's name"
Be careful, only if he is for example Bohemundi de Taranto you must enter "Bohemundi de_Taranto"
For King John the Ruthless just put "John"
[M2TW AAR] The Spirit of the Blitz (16 turn long campaign victory with Sicily)
[RETROFIT AAR] World War 0 (All factions hotseat)
![]()
What does this do?
This gives the army that that General is commanding full movement points again. This means that as long as you don't bump into any enemies you can move forever (as long as you keep entering the text in console).
Also, type "Captain <captain's name>" if the army does not have a general.

For people talking about accuracy. You do realize that its 2 years per turn right? I'm sure during Medieval age and even Roman times, Armies marched much longer in 2 years compared to this game.
I'm sorry ckndr but I must call your bluffIf anything, the game is not realistic in many ways. Could the army have moved farther than allowed in the game, sure. However, in medieval times, men were tied to the land. Due to planting and harvesting "battles" took place during the summer. If you lived in Western Europe you had many small fiefs ruled by men that wanted a toll or "tax" to cross their lands. In addition you have to feed your army and logistics were not up to the standards of moving hundreds let alone thousands of men more than 100 miles as an example. Does this mean that the crusades were some miracle of the times? No, but if you read about the journey you realize that the foodstuffs were not imperishable.
If you lived in Eastern Europe well there were plenty of bandits and miles of nothing for you to march around onI understand your point and the OP it would be nice to "BLITZ" through Europe but in this setting it is just not possible without using "cheats" or modding the results.
Have fun playing this game, cos' it is awesome!
Its alright I found the Descr_Character file and I put up the action points
What about the traits that are supposed to allow a General to move his army faster? I know they only work for the general and his bodyguard but is it possible to make them work for the army?
They work on entire army, like the drillmaster ancillary. You can easily confirm this by giving the general this ancillary and then removing it via console command & check the radius of movement before and after the ancillary, i think that will clearly show it.![]()
