    Default Community Mod For Chivalry! Download It! (mp Incompatible)

    Hey guys... Finally the permission was granted, thanks to ChiwTW dev team.
    The beta version of ChiwTW, its Single Player Campaign wasnot really finished, so i decided to introduce some changes, for a better gameplay.

    Here are some of the changes:
    1.Some Icons Fixed
    2.New buildings - farms, roads, traders, sewers, taverns, silk road, and others.
    3.Trade System - resources are back))), naval trade improved.
    4.New formations(i kinda tried to adopt Darth Formations, but they are not fully tested, so in case anything happens, get DaVinci's formations here-->http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51549)
    5.You can now train spies.
    6.I've added some wonders on the map - pyramids + mauzoleum.
    7.Existing and new buildings now cost more, take more time to build, but, are much more profitable. This is to reflect slow develompent in Medieval.
    8.Some buildings got new bonuses - like armoury now actually improves armour and weapons, taverns add to troop expirience and et.cetera...
    9.And many other changes....

    1.ChiwTW submod patch v1.01:
    --->Adds new egyptian names: 153 male names, 46 surnames, 66 female names
    --->Higher Upkeep for Byzantium Units (+75)
    ???I am not sure whether it is savegame compatible, but should be.

    2.ChiwTW Submod Patch v1.02:
    --->Fixes names issue from the previous patch
    --->Allows building roads.

    3.ChiwTw Submod Patch v1.03:
    --->Fixed ctd while fighting rebels with turcoman archers.
    --->Increased starting money 10 times.
    --->Added a lot of hapiness bonuses - in one of the campaigns rebels literally destroyed several factions... perhaps this might help to stop them.

    --->v1.03 (unpack in \chivalry folder)
    --->v1.04 (unpack in \Rome - Total War folder)

    4.Launch the Chivalry shortcut, as usual, to play.

    THE FUTURE:

    It is very easy to ramp up the maintenance of cost of Byzantine units. That might help. One abiding problem for the empire was that while they had some truly fine units, it proved very hard to field them in any quantity. Most of the forces at Manzikert were, where they were combatants, were of so low a military quality as to be barely soldiers. Even without betrayal by Andronikos Dukas the battle could still have been lost. Higher maintenance might help in regard to reducing quantities of elite troops. Land fertility etc. are also fairly easy to modify, if it creates any imbalance.

    Glycerius yeah, you are right, the upkeep cost for one of their cheap unit should be increased (all of their armies 90% consist of them)... Otherwise, it is way overpowered.

    I tryed it a bit and it's a very good modification for the map...great work daud.fr

    in these days i'll try also other factions and i'll give you more suggestions

    you added 75 upkeep to byzantine units...I just did the same myself. Seems we have the same ideas.

    Making mods for mods in beta-stage is a bit odd, Draud.fr, why don't you join their team? You seem like a very valuable addition. :original:

    Hi, I installed your mod and was playing egypt, and clicked on the building view for the second to last governore building (dont know what its called) and instant ctd. I dont know if this was present/ reported in chiv w/out this mod, but I cant go back easily to check myself.

    Ive noticed something interesting if you play as the byzantines with regular CTW there's no money to be had even if everything goes toward economic developement but the AI somehow ahs both largest economy and military when it's in charge. Im used to RTW and MTW on max difficulty setting so Im used to a hard game so somethings just weird with the Byzantines. I you increase the unit cost it will keep the AI in check but human players may not have much luck.

    Just wanted to say thanks for your work on this daud - you've improved an already great mod!

    Whilst playing as the Egyptians I was getting a CTD when facing rebels - it turns out the Turcoman_archer entry in desc_model_battle.txt is missing entries for the slave faction - I posted a fix in the 'official' bug thread last night. I know this isn't your mini-mod's doing, but anyone playing as Egypt will run into it sooner or later, so you may want to incorporate it into your next patch.

    The fix is to replace the entry for turcoman_archers in the desc_model_battle.txt with the following:

    type turcoman_archer
    skeleton fs_archer, fs_dagger
    indiv_range 40
    texture thrace, chivalry/data/models_unit/textures/MTW_unit_seljuk_horse_archer.tga
    texture slave, chivalry/data/models_unit/textures/MTW_unit_seljuk_horse_archer.tga
    model_flexi chivalry/data/models_unit/MTW_unit_seljuk_horse_archer.cas, 12

    Surprisingly i though i've fixed the issues with rebels.... Or perhaps i forgot to do so with turcomans. Anyway thanks bro, feedback like that is very important, and helps to improve. I'll definitely incorporate that in a new fix, that i will make today.
    Concerning the morale - to be honest i don't know :original: I also think that battles should last longer, i am playing with Egypt on VH M settings, and in every battle against Byzantium, they lose ~2,500 i lose about 50, and it takes like 5 minutes to finishe them.... The problem is that i'll defiinitely mess up somewhere with balancing. So if you want send me your modified files,(if you think they are balanced) and i'll include them in the patch.

    The game is now awesome!

    A small issue.
    In nearly every book covering the middle ages, the crossbow outranges the bow, even the long bow. I have changed this in my game to crossbows range200(meters) and arbalests range 240(meters). Crossbowmen were the earliest snipers next to longbowmen.

    send out 1.01 again. it won't download unless 1.02 covers it.

    Average rate of fire; crossbow 4x/minute or 150 in terms of RTW tenths of a second or 15 seconds; bowmen 8x/min or 75 in terms of RTW tenths of a second or 7.5 seconds

    No worries - always happy to help out with a good mod!

    I've noticed another thing, again nothing to do with your mini-mod, this time with the Ghazi cavalry - their sprites are a bit odd, as they use the Ghazi Infantry sprites, making it look like the soldiers are standing up on their horses from a distance. You can fix this by changing the sprite entry from 'infantry' to 'cavalry' in the desc_model_battle.txt, or copy this one over the original:

    That's what happens in regular CTW, true. In my first version which introduces the economy, Byzantium goes absolutely mad, they literally send full stacks of armies, one after another. If you download two new patches, (upkeep +75 for Byzantium), they become a bit more calm, but still tend to be military strong.

    I've also noticed one thing. Some countries lack finances.... The horde was literally destoroyed by rebels. I recon i'll issue a new patch today which will give more starting money to ai.

    Uh, reading the install instructions, does this only work with BI installed?

    (Now muslims got muslim names, at least egypt does)
    The original Egypt (which now is used for the Golden Horde) or the Chivalry Egypt?

    All in all, it sounds absolutely fantastic and definitely a further developement of an already great mod.

    Everyone SORRY!
    REINSTALL PATCHES v1.01 + v1.02!!! IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO IT!!!
    v1.01 should go into the rome-total war folder, while v1.02 into chivalry folder!!!!!!

    Second Update:
    The previous patch, was a little buggy. The "names.txt" instead of going into text folder, went into data... So the egyptians still were greeks.
    But here is the fix:
    ChiwTW Submod Patch v1.02:
    1. Fixes the names issue, from the previous patch.
    2. Now it is possible to built paved roads and highways.

    Installation:
    1.Unpack into chivalry folder
