I will be able to keep all my campaign savegames right?

I am thinking of re-installing RTW and install also BI and Alexander, which is why im asking.

Also, will i be able to load my RTW exe savegame with Alexander?

You just need to find the right savegame.. in this case something like Creative Assembly > Rome Total War > Roma SurrectumII > play_one_turn_campaigns > and then find your savegame and put it somewhere else (desktop for instance)

About the RTW savegame and alexander I don't know about that, probably not.

You may be able to play a R:TW campaign on R:TW BI but not the other way around.

If you do start to use a different exe I'd suggest starting a new campaign.

R:TW BI supports the shieldwall and swimming for some units. These features cannot be used with R:TW Alex (which is the exe that I use).

, now i cant play with alexander because it says some error with a skeleton javelin rider something >.<
Steps that i did:

1. Uninstall Rome - Total War
2. Redownload RSII via Torrent
3. Install Rome - Total War
4. Install Rome - Total War Patch 1.3
5. Install Rome - Total War Patch 1.5
6. Install Rome - Total War Barbarian Invasion
7. Install Rome - Total War Barbarian Invasion Patch 1.6
8. Install Rome - Total War Alexander
9. Install RSII

I cant re-do all of this again, and yes, it was a clean re-install.

I didnt have any issues what-so-ever.

Dont tell me to re-install everything again, please.#

Nobody has any ideas on how to fix this?

Maybe i can edit a text file? Or add a different skeleton to the Javelineer?

This is really frickin frustrating, i re-installed again and i still get the same error.

And i re-downloaded and re-installed again and i still get the same error.

Maybe you didn't remove all traces of the game between the uninstall / reinstall......

There should have been no need to download the game again.

Where do i need to look for any additional traces?

I do have a little program that fully uninstalls and removes games and all files associated with said game, ill use that to uninstall next time.

Ok, i re-installed again, this time i used the program which removes all traces of RTW(i think).

But i still get the error.

This time, ill re-install myself by removing all traces myself.

Can someone tell me where to find said traces?

Ferdiad pointed you to the solution already. The installation is corrupt.

1. When you had got to Alex, did you try this and make sure it works correctly?
2. Did you then copy the RTW directory completely to a new folder tom install RS into?
3. Where did you put the RS files?
4. How did you install RS?

I know these may seem obvious but it really helps to know exactly what you have done.

I already told you the steps i did.

I installed Alexander a billion times, this doesnt happen with any other mod.

2. I installed RTW, copied RTW folder, Installed EB in copied folder, installed RSII in main folder.
3. The same path as when i first installed it and worked.
4. By the installer it provides.

This happened when i tried to re-install with Alexander, but when it got the error, i uninstalled all of it, re-downloaded RSII to the folder, same folder as the first time when RSII used to work, tried to install RTW with RSII again and i kept getting the same error, then i re-did the whole process again while removing all traces and i got the same error again.

I'm sorry you are getting frustrated but I did say exactly what you have done. I meant the paths, it really helps to know. And if this is happening with Alex, have you tried without Alex? Not that it should be a problem but just wondering?

You mention EB. Your probaly getting the installs mixed up somehow and installing to the EB folder.

I fixed it by mistake, i installed RTW, made a typo and installed RSII elsewhere, and then i tried copy-pasting everything from the RSII folder into the RTW folder and running RSII and it worked.

When i first looked at the sticky i thought it said something along the lines of "uninstalling and re-installing properly".
