I did want to use Kato's awesome nam-myoho-renge-kyo sashimono, but unfortunately anything that does not use a square image size will always be brought back to a square, thus making it look weird.

    You're welcome !

And Anton, since only square symbols can be used for the sashimono, what about a resised "go" banner for a Tokugawa special unit ?

Sadly, another limitation is that sashimonos are made distinct by faction. There's no way, at least none that I have found, that allows an individual unit to have its own sashimono. That's part of my huge gripe with S2's heraldry.

If I recall, Age of Empires 3 had that kabuto for the regicide game mod daimyo and Hosokawa Tadaoki.

God you will never forget such a weird and awesome kabuto. A carp. A friggin crap on top of you.

I don't know the owner (I have a book in wich there might be more info about this helmet but I'm not home right now, I'll post anything interesting I can find tomorrow).

Regarding the sashimono, it's such a shame the developers went for such a simple representation of the heraldry and colors considering how important it was back then.

Also, something completely different but does the general/daimyo have to be a cavalery unit ? It makes sense for Ii, Honda, Kato or Date but some like Toyotomi, Ishida or Tokugawa would probably be better sitting on a camp stool with a yari samurai unit as bodyguards.. (to make a bigger difference between strategists and warriors as I suggested to you) but I doubt it's possible..

Edit : @Erwin I doubt this helmet was Hosokawa Tadaoki's for two reasons, those really complicated helmets were more likely created later during the Edo period (when armors became more decorative) and Tadaoki is known for creating the Etchu style of armor wich is a very simple/battle practical style. (I posted a pic of his armor in this thread.)

? Trust me, when I read it, there was no hostility that I detected. Now back to topic.

    Kabuto with bunny ears.

And maybe Kuruda Nagamasa's chinese style kabuto with huge blades at the side. I demand real pictures!

Holy crap. That octopus kabuto looks awesome!! If I ever build a suit of armour for myself, this will definitely be in it. Or perhaps second to a mane-based kabuto.

Thanks for the rep ! This octopus kabuto can be seen at the Stibbert museum in Firenze, Italia. This museum owns one of the most impressive collection of helmet outside of Japan.

PERFECT! I can kill two birds with one stone; run across the rooftops of Firenze whilst "acquiring" my new octopus kabuto .

Its possible, but arent they would lose the strategical and tactical advantage of moving at speed? after all, would Tokugawa Ieyasu HIMSELF march on foot?
