A few things to reveal today. I've become fairly lax in this regard, although it should be known I am constantly putting work into the campaign.


First of all, a few hours ago I applied the correct names to every daimyo in the campaign. No more oddly-named daimyo popping up and screwing over our immersion. Of course, the name database is quite huge, and I can't say that a name you recognize from the original campaign won't show up. Still, this definitely helps immersion.


Second, I have made short notes of my intentions on this matter, but I figure I'd be very clear on the matter. The campaign will, to an unclear extent, represent the early Edo period. It won't be as clear as it was historically, but there will be some forms of evolution in the various points of the game that do this. One little teaser for this eventual feature is the Hyakukin Teppo Corps, exclusive to anyone aligned with the Tokugawa. Here is my depiction of them (bear in mind they have a sengoku feel to them due to older-than-appropriate unit parts):

Well, I invaded Kyushu knowing Nagamasa had almost two full stacks waiting for me. I did not, however, anticipate such co-ordination, or at least the impression of co-ordination.

Had it been vanilla, it would have been a pretty clean victory.

First came the Kato assault - The Battle of Kakura. I lost a few men whilst pulling off an envelopment maneuver, partially due to unit balancing and partially due to the delay of having such a big yari/long yari army. I withdrew a few weaker units, and amalgamated forces from the town-fort garrison (commanded by Hideie) with the forces under Norikatsu. I lost 973 whilst Kiyomasa lost over 2300 men, loosing his life in the envelopment.

Then came the devastating Kuroda assault. Having moved some of the forces under the direct command of Hideie, the army was already suffering from losses. Hideie's defense was rather strained in the first wave, but it was a solid victory. Personally, I believe I could've done better; while there were a few 'defend the wall' orders that the game did not acknowledge, my movements were rather shabby. The second wave of Kuroda forces brought destruction - both Norikatsu and... our... dear... HIDEIE-KUN... died in the defense...

The main army took too many losses holding back the second wave, so the overall survivors were the majority of Norikatsu's old force who overwhelmed the small minority that remained from the reinforcing Kuroda army. The loyal Akashi are now at my back with an entire stack, so I decided to go for broke and split up my decimated forces and take down every last survivor, including Kuroda Nagamasa. I will now bring Kyushu back to the Toyotomi, however Gohime, Hideie's widow, has demanded that Kyushu burn. This may be a chaotic turn for the Ukita, who once prided themselves on their honour.

Amazing pictures !!

Do you use any graphic mod btw ? less gloss, retexture or anything ?

The visual component of the mod includes a lessening of the gloss. Not to the point where armour looks dry and incapable of reflecting light or anything .
