A quick introduction, a small question, and a big thank you.
Greetings peeps. As you can see, I'm new to the forums. Downloaded this mod a couple of days ago and all I can say is - It's the best RTS I've been playing in the last couple of years. I wasn't too into warhammer before for some reason, until now.
It's dark, it's gritty, It's addictive, it's intense, it's epic, it's magical. Love how it borrows from the 15th, 16, and even 17th century. Even so, it has one flaw:
- The utterly bad native AI.
Obviously, I was playing 1.4.4 since 1.5 isn't fully translated nor fully stable(for some) so I decided to play safe and go with 1.4.4.
However, I then found out that " ReallyBadAI" was implemented in 1.5, and on top of that, I was playing on medium & hard, which would further cripple the challenge. I had a few challenging battle and an epic one, where I had to rely on my allies against Nurgle's followers. But that's it.
So anyway, I've got a few questions.
a) Can I have 1.4.4. and 1.5 installed at the same time? At least temporarily. I don't want to abandon my 1.4.4. campaign, as long as there is the possibility of 1.5 being unstable on my PC.
b) How does ReallyBadAI perform in comparison to the native AI? Would you recommend me to play very hard - very hard with ReallyBadAI?
c) Are the translations solid? How much of my game is going to be in Russian if I download 1.5?(with the translations, of course)
d) Are there any Skaven in the game? I know they don't exist as a faction, but are there any troops at all, as mercenaries or as a part of an existing non Skaven faction? (whether 1.4 or 1.5.) I'm asking because I haven't found them yet, though they always appear in loading screens and it wouldn't make sense for such goodies-heavy game not to have them.
Thanks in advance.

Re: A quick introduction, a small question, and a big thank you.
There is a version of really bad AI available for 1.4.4 and yes you can have multiple versions as they are mod foldered Really bad AI is not always way obviosly better but is in a lot of battles especially if you play with battle timer off AI will wait on high ground and on walls. AI boost from most obvious affect of Really bad AI is flank attacks and retreating cavalry that get in trouble.
No idea about 1.5 as I hanent tried it yet.

Re: A quick introduction, a small question, and a big thank you.
a.) as Ichon told, yes you can. Tought I suggest renaming your CoW 1.44, since I think otherwise the installer will overwrite over it with 1.5. It's simple tought, instructions here:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=460784
b.) I have been playing H/H CoW 1.5, and it's not too challenging, it really depends what faction you play. H/H or VH/VH is the way to go.
c.) Current raw translation from Poxo does it's job. It's mostly "google translate", but it's totally playable. Official will come later.
d.) What I have understoop, CoW team have wanted to add Skaven in the game, but they aren't implemented yet. Tought hopefully they will be in CoW 2.0 which will expand the map and add for example Wood-Elves.
And welcome to the forums
On quick note, if your playing 1.44, go to the sub-mods section and download the english Voicemod if you haven't already, it really makes the game a lot better. it isn't compatible with 1.5 yet tought.

Alright, cool.
Though can you answer me this, is the voicemod that you suggested me included in Gigantes's 1.4.4. version? I've been checking the videos and the thread you linked me, all I can see are the videos from late 2010, which points to a conclusion that the voice submod is very old.
p.s.
I know the edit button is supposed to be in the lower right corner, but all I see is quote, multi-quote and reply O_o

Christmas 2012 or early January 2013 for 2.0. I would not expect it any sooner. If I remember right it was about a year between 1.3 and 1.4, and another year between 1.4 and 1.5.

From the thread:
"Update. Now 1.4.4 compatable"
So yes, it's compatible
In the sub-mods section, I suggest reading closelly the first, and sometimes second posts of sub-mods. There's nothing wrong to ask things, but usually all info you need is in there. And it's best to ask in the corresponding thread the question is related to, since usually you get best/fastest answer there.
