Making Vassals?

How can you make a campaign start with a faction as anothers vassal? on top of that can you change the rate the of funds that is sent from vassal to owner?

I don't say "It is not possible" becouse I always hope somebody pops up and explains us how to do, but as far as I know, nobody still managed to do this

Why don't you make them as an emerging faction? Like a faction that rebels or would that not serve your purpose?

Nothing but if it's not possible to start a faction as a vassal, it may be time to start looking at other options.

It's also not possible via script if that's what you mean

It is possible. In the diplomacy section of the descr_strat you write "protectorate_of", instead of "allied_with" or "at war_with". But it's not possible via script

As far as I know "protectorate_of" just makes two faction allies, gives one trade rights and grants one military access.
It does not make the desired faction a vassal!

Well, it is used in Third Age this way, and Harad and Rhûn are definitely Mordor's vassals.

PS: allied_with also grants trade rights and military access. Rohan and Gondor have all of these at the beginning.
