    Default Mediaplace-Spyware

Hi, i did a scan with Spy Sweeper for spyware and it found something called mediaplace but i have to subscribe to remove this item...but i dont want to so is it possible to manual remove this?
or does anyone know of another program that will detect and destroy this piece of SPYWARE!

I've had problems with this mediaplace thing before. I thought i removed but i guess it's still here..

    Thanks in advance Cheers-Meqon-Nerd

Ah, I've had bad memories from Ad-Aware.

    I use AVG

They are 2 different things, AVG is for virus and Ad-Aware is for spyware.

    By the way, try Spybot.

lol..try spybot..hrmpf havent read to the end be4 posting.

even though the computershop where i work uses and recommends avg i do not like it so much.
after an avg scan it often shows me an uninfected computer but when i do an onlinescan with bitdefender eg or download/install antivir i still find infected files. i prefer antivir over avg as an free virusscanner. adaware and spybot should be both installed and used..the one usually finds what the other one doesnt find..then ccleaner for every now and then and then you are all set with an all free basic setup of crapremoval tools. then you only need to scan your downloaded pron be4 u doubleclick it and you are pretty much save from 85% of all possible harm

I use Ad-Aware for spyware, and Avast! for antivirus. I've never had a problem with them. You could try avast and see if it picks it up.

Microsoft also has an Anti-Spyware program, I'm not sure if it is still free.

The program you posted the screenshot of likely infested your computer with spyware and then demanded you pay them to remove it..

As others have said, stick with the main ones everyone knows and loves. SpyBot S&D and AdAware are the best, and free.
