can't recruit kretan archers

hi, i did some searching already and what i think i've gathered is that you need a type 4 or 3 government then the appropriate barracks?

i think i made the type 1 homeland government which means its mostly gonna be factional units right?

so then what're the benefits of choosing a type 1 if you have the chance instead of a 2/3/4?

1 can build Tier 5 MICs and gets to build all the Infrastructure buildings whereas they get more limited in the other levels.

uh, does that mean i can build tier 1 to tier 5 mics with a type 1 and somewhere along that path i'd be able to recruit kretan archers?

Tier 4 factional MIC in Krete, Delta Neilou, or Syria. That means Type I or II government. If you're a Western Greek faction.

This might help in the future or other cases...

GOV type I - best for factional units:
> up to factional MIC/barracks level 5
> up to regional MIC/barracks level 2

GOV type II:
> up to factional MIC/barracks level 4
> up to regional MIC/barracks level 3

GOV type III:
> up to factional MIC/barracks level 3
> up to regional MIC/barracks level 4

GOV type IV - best for regional units:
> up to factional MIC/barracks level 2
> up to regional MIC/barracks level 5

The Province Details of the Recruitment Viewer (in EB's start menu folder) shows which units are available at each Level of the factional and regional MIC-Complex (usually two different numbers, which are easy to assign to either factional or regional MICs).

Also, higher level governments have benefits in regards to building infrastructure etc.

For example, the highest level academy, ports, markets can't be built with a low level government.
