Default How to find preferences.txt on windows 7?

I cant seem to find the preferences.txt file anywhere. I am running windows 7, and i simply want to turn morale off and fiddle with the settings. I have ran RTW for many years and was able to find the file on windows vista easily. I remember i had this problem a while ago and i read somewhere that i had to search something in the start menu, and it worked! but i cant find where i read it can anyone help me to find it? its really bugging me D: thanks

Wherever you placed the game..it's in the Data/preferences folder. Of course you have to have played the actual game (albiet briefly)to have one made.

actually it's in the RTW folder itself - not in the data folder

The preferences folder will get created once you play any game (custom battle/campaign)
or when you go to options and change something in there.

Inside the preferences folder there will be created a few files including the preferences.txt

If you've installed into the program files folder it could well be in the 'virtual store' or 'appdata' area.

You can find this by running %appdata% and then follow the path.

    It will be something like 'c:\users\"user account"\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\preferences'.

The 'The Creative Assemlby' could be 'Activision' if you've got the original three CD-ROM version of the game.

Umm... if you want to find it you might be able to by going to the start menu and typing preferences.txt... and only so many results can be there.
