    Default Invisible troops

    under what circumstances when adding new units will they fail to show up in custom battles. I cant see the unit soldiers but they are there and can attack/shoot. What I have done is add units from one mod to Third age total war. All the mesh and textures were added to the correct folders... i know this because two of the four units added show up in custom battles and the mod i got them from all four units showed up. Here is the EDU and modeldb file of the two units that have failed to appear in custom battles.

    As you can see in both units i did have the correct faction which is the mongols (Silvans) the two units used to belong to Lorien.

    You posted the BMDB lines, not the EDU as in export_descr_units.txt.

    Have you increased this part of the BMDB as you haven't mentioned it 22 serialization::archive 3 0 0 0 0 713 0 0, your's will be different to mine so increase it by whatever many you have added, in your case that would be 4.

    Yes i added 4 to that number.

    your soldier line dosnt match your BMDB.

    soldier Elf_Archer, 48, 0, 1

    13 lorien_archer

    Dose Elf_Archer exist in your BMDB anywhere? (sorry I dont have TATW)

    EDIT: Nevermind, they must or you'd just get CTD

    Yes it does i don't know how the mod maker did this the soldier line is in the BMDB but he also added the lorien archer entry.

    Invisible in what sense? You mean not visible at all or silverish units?

    Add 1 to your serilization number at the top of the file. It should just be a simple miss count, which sometimes cause invisible units instead of a black screen crash. I know someone already suggested something similar, but if it doesnt work all youll get is a crash.
    it might also be to high, try taking one away, then test both units.

    Ok i had 1302 added four units so it went to 1306 but only two of the four units showed up in custom battels all four had one armour upgrade so i have added 4 more to that bringing it to 1310 and now all four units plus the armour upgrades show up yea thanks for your help i didnt know i had o add 1 for each armour upgrade

    Use the BMDB checker to always recheck the serialization error.

    any bogus model will create an invisible unit. useful if you want to make a siege engine look like it moves on its own power.
