    Default Concerning Total Realism Mod

Since their forum is still down I thought this might be a good place to come and get some help.

I am attempting to install RTR over my vanilla copy of RTW. I have reinstalled and created a fresh copy, no mods. I tried to install the 1.2 update, but it says I already have it.

I boot up and install RTR, and begin to run it. However, when I run the game it crashes. I get the opening screen (with the map of Italy+surrounding Med.) and then an error message. The game apparently cannot find the file

e (with an superscript hyphen) O (with an umlaut) a (with an umlaut)?, square.
A Note, I own the gold edition.

Do I need to install it in a different place, thus deleting all references to the old install, or is it because of the Gold edition being unable to work with RTR. Thanks for any help anyone can give.

*Note, appologies if this is in the wrong place, it is my first post to the forum

If im not mistaken gold edition RTW comes with the 1.5 patch already installed when you install the game, if so, that could be the problem with both the mod and trying to install 1.2

RTR Gold is designed to work with RTW 1.2, RTW gold edition has RTW patched to 1.5. Look for RTR platinum edition, a conversion of RTR gold to 1.5 by some fans of the mod.

Ah, thats what I figured the problem would be. I love the discounted price on the combo, I hate being given the newest version.

Thank you both for the blazzingly fast aid.

The RTR forums have been working for ages now. Remember to visit the rometotalrealism.ORG website, not the rometotalrealism.COM website (the latter is no longer owned by the team, long story).

    Forum Link.

Thanks, that would be where my mistake was.
