    Icon5 Lifespan modifiers - possible?

    Hi

Im wondering does anyone know if its possible to create modifiers for lifespan of characters, which would essentially reduce their lifespan to whatever is desired? For example if I set the maximum lifespan of characaters to 200 years, can I create traits or other modifiers to give particular factions or characters a shorter lifespan? Lets say I would like some of them to only live up to 50% of that maximum lifespan, or 20%, etc. Is it possible and if so then how to do it?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

No I'm pretty sure that's not possible, but you could script for the starting characters to die at a certain turn.

yes it is possible. I forget the name of the file but I will look it up

here you go. it is an xml file. Once you have notepad open then you need to click on descr_campaign_db.xml in the data directory.
you cannot open it from my computer directly

Yes but that's for all factions/characters, the op wants different age limits per faction

You could add mortality traits to different factions. While this would not really change the life-span on a per-faction basis, you could cirtainly make it more likely that some factions would not live as long as others.

The opposite of Hale and Hearty, the Hypochondriac trait line, this gives the general lower hit points, i dont know if it lowers life expectancy.

the point is, I don't know any "mortal" Effect for a trait.

Well, plagues only work for whole settlements, not for single characters. And even if it worked for single characters, it would only be possible to make them ill via script, which would need the characters name. But it is virtually impossible to find out a random characters name (though one could make (number of names*number of surnames) monitors. But this would not do your turn calculating time a favor ).
So there is sadly no way to decrease a factions life span. Otherwise I'm sure it would have been done in Third Age (elves are mortal^^).

maybe if it is possible to make a character to be a plague bearer even without knowing his name, by putting "this" in the command entry instead of the name, after a CharacterSelected event. Does anybody know the command to make somebody a plague bearer (if such a command exists, which I really doubt)?

This could work, but I haven't ever heard of such a command (and I've read through all of the Docudemons). Anyway, this desease would also affect the settlement a character is stationed in, so this would would give a massive disadvantage to short living factions.
