Over many campaigns I have gotten a few Generals to have "the conquerer" or "the mighty" after their names. I was wondering if anyone has a list of all the possible names and what you have to do to get them.
Also, is there "the great?"

Yep, there is 'The Great'. And the file with all the names and what you have to do to get them is....
Default Directory: C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data\text\export_VnVs.txt
Near the bottom is where all the traits that give a 'Surname' to Generals. What the trait is and what the 'Surname' is. However, to find out how to get these traits, you need to go to the file....

Takes a bit of time to understand how its worded, but about half way down the page is where the 'Trigger Data' starts, and this is where you can find how to acquire certain traits.
And if your really adventurous you can change these to what ever you want in order to get them easier. Hope that helps you... :original:
I've had "The Conqueror", "The Brave", "The Victor", "The Butcher", "The Mighty" and "The Orator". Those are all the ones I can thinkof right now. I have also had a man get his name changed entirely. He was born Amulius Brutus, but when he died his name was Amulius Victor. He never had a surname, he was only known as Amulius Victor, it was pretty sweet, he was one of the best Generals I've ever had.

Oh yeah, I've had some generals go from their original name to something like Tiberius the Cunning, then to Tiberius the Killer, then to Tiberius the Butcher. It happens when you use spies and assassins a lot and your general lives to a good ripe age.
My most interesting name change was with my one general in Athens who became known as Nero Infortunatus, he lost two legionary eagles in one year.He only got one back and then went to conquer Macedon and then his name changed to the Nero The Victor.
the coolest surname i've had on a general was Amulius the "Editor"
I once had a guy who's name was 'Oppius the Great', but he was far from great: he had only 4 command stars and even less management and influence.

I also had Editor, but I have no idea what does it means. Can somebodey tell me?

Like I said... jsut look in the "export_VnVs.txt" file.
The "Editor" :
{Hero-Worships_Gladiators} Hero-Worships Gladiators
{Hero-Worships_Gladiators_desc}
This man's excessive interest in gladiators and bloodsports is widely regarded as unhealthy, as is his habit of dressing as a gladiator.
{Hero-Worships_Gladiators_gain_desc}
This man is now seen as tasteless and gauche for his undue obsession with the Games.
{Hero-Worships_Gladiators_epithet_desc} the "Editor"
{Gladiator_Obsessed} Gladiator Obsessed
{Gladiator_Obsessed_desc}
This man's love of the Games and Gladiators makes him a well-loved figure among the common folk.
{Gladiator_Obsessed_gain_desc}
This man is famed for his love of the Games.

When I was playing Gaul I had a guy called 'the Chieftain' , 'the Warlord' and 'the Ugly' (last one is the best)
Thanks for your help Uzi, that answered all my questions.
Shadows,
I had Amulius Victor as well, but after I conquered all of greece he changed his name to Amulius the Mighty. He was one of the best generals I ever had. I think Victor is just another way of saying "the Victor"
I've had some interesting titles for my men
Pharnaces the Wrathful, then Pharnaces the Mighty (Seleucid Empire)
Ahmose the Conqueror, Ahmose the Mighty, Ahmose the Great (Seleucid Empire)
Eumenes the Victor (Greek Cities)
Gaius the Mean (Scipii)
Somebody the Mad (Germans, he had the berserk attribute)
Lucius the Editor (Julii)

I think that probably my greatest achievement was introducing Ozymandias to these boards.
I once fought an Illyrian general with the surname 'the Mad'. I think he acquired this surname because he had a 'Berserker' trait: this trait gave him -3 command when defending, +3 when attacking. He attacked me but I am a 10-star RTW player, so I defeated him before he realised I attacked him.Originally Posted by Dominicus of Byzantium
