    Default Very slow turns?

For some reason the other factions take a fairly long time to end their turns, usually to get back to mine it takes around 2 minutes or so....any advice?

Do you have, by any chance, Barons Submod installed? Because this sabmos has a lot of scripts it makes the AI turns go a lot slower. But sadly, they the only way to reduce the turn times would be to uninstall the Submod.

If you don't have any submods installed, I fear there is not really something you can do. In TATW turns are just a lot slower compared to vanilla M2TW

2 Minutes are way too much, it lasts max. 25 seconds for me. But I know this problem from other games and found the best solution - read a book while waiting for the end of turn. You will be surprised how many pages you can read although you wanted to play Third Age^^

I don't have any such problems, and I have barons submod installed, takes like 10-20 sec for me!

If you are using a laptop with some sort of powersaver or eco utility setting (i had a similar problem with my toshiba) turning that off to play the game might help.

Hi, I have the same problem and even 4GB of RAM didn't solve the problem which is kind of weird.

    Here is "my" thread:

If anyone has problems with windows 7 slow turns, you MUST move the SEGA folder out of the programs (x86) file. This (the SEGA folder) obviously includes the mods folder (TaTW), vanilla and any other mods you might have installed. It makes a huge difference, hopefully this will work for others aswell.

I never install games in the default folder, so no possible solution for me :/

If you're using a Toshiba laptop you might not want to put it on high performance for this game. Mine overheats and crashes so I keep it on "Balanced" power plan.

I had this problem too... Came to find out the fans were not working. So I took an air compressor and blew all the dust out and it ran fine. NEVER play games on anything other than High Performance. "Lag, Lag, everywhere there's lag"

Maybe my guide can help you some with this, see my sig

The Toshiba power options is a balancing act. Too much or too little and you get problems.

    Moved to Technical Help forum.

Greetings HNM, and welcome to the forums.

Give us some more details. How long are the turn times, and do you have any submods installed?

Put your view screen into the ocean, empty plain/deserts, or similar high fps landscape. I find the tree animation drops my fps a lot, and with it the amount of time it takes for the turn to calculate.

Sadly, I can't find anyone who knows how to deactivate that stupid tree animation.

Has any of you with slow turn time tried hitting Spacebar to speed up the turn time of AI factions? And uncheck Follow AI in Options. Maybe that can solve your problem.
