The lion's paw has felt the rose's thorn.
Obviously hoping to get rid of his dwarf son, Lord Tywin tasked him with sieging the Tyrell fortifications west of the Mander with only a small force. His wish was not fulfilled, but when Ser Garlan crossed the river in force, only a third of the Lannister army could be mobilised in time to meet him. Having routed the center of the Westerlanders, he fell on their remaining forces, which broke quickly after being attacked in the rear by Arbor sailors under Lord Paxter Redwyne.
Lord Tarly did not arrive in time to participate in the battle, but he swears to take his share of the lion in the next.
