    Hey guys.

I've recently started listening to Country music and I gotta say I kinda liked it, and I would like to ask you to recommend me some good Country music. Nothing too depressing, I'm more into the up-beat kind of Country music.

My nation is so disconnected from that genre that I talk to people about it they give me odd looks and just ask me what the hell's wrong with me. But, hey, who cares. To each his own

Not that these are bad bands. I'm a fan of like 95% of them. But if we're talking country we should talk country.

Well, to be rather honest I'm already listening to Johnny Cash and CCR, I just never really counted CCR as country. I mean... They sound more like rock to me, not that I'm complaining, their songs are amazing... Johnny Cash just sounds more country to me.

Anyways, thanks for the recommendations mate! I'll look into where I can buy their albums online.

EDIT: Damn you guys are fast. Thank you, God!
EDIT2: Whoa. The first and third songs are amazing. Thank you!

I listen to this in secret when being all alone driving from B to N, or from B to H or whatever on the highway. Makes me feel like on a roadtrip, and I get all comfy instead of bored and wanting to get out of that car.

    Some more favs of mine

    Not really 'pure' country

and I really like Michael Hurley, though most of his stuff is better classed as 'folk' than 'country' I think

It's a shame country has such a bad rep, there's lots of good stuff out there.

Yeah, I've got to bow to greater knowledge there...

But it's often the "country" I hear first that has permeated through those bands.

Folk and southern rock do that for me. I like to hear a "story" when I listen to music; to be spun a yarn.

Old Crow Medicine Show is "Newgrass". They are awesome though.

Country and bluegrass aren't the same.
