Playing as England against France on VH/VH (vanilla)

In SS 6.4 mod i did a quick campaign with the HRE, playing H/H.

You see, they have Bologna, a city that makes you an obvious target of the Italian States. So, in the beginning of the game (about turn 10 or something), Genoa besieges me, with 1/3 of their entire forces. My Kaiser and some weak general are in the city, with only spear militia, facing the Italian militias (with are better) and some good heavy cavalry. I was totally not expecting to win this battle, but my Emperor proved to be awesome, and almost alone defeated the enemy army (as my militia spearmen broke and got back to fight every 15 seconds).

And then, i put my units to be retrained, NEXT DAMN TURN the Venetians attack the same settlement, with the double number of men. I swear I thought, "okay, i should autoresolve this, there's no way i can win this battle, i'd be wasting my time".

Clear victory? DOn't take me bad, friend, but i don't understand this game criteria for determining what kind of victory or defeat that was. Shouldn't take be a Heroic Victory?

Yeah, it's odd. The English stacks there were actually quite decent with lots of good units like urban militia and longbowmen. And my army wasn't that strong. So it wasn't an easy battle.

Here's another battle against about 4000 men and I did get a heroic victory. In this case, I had a very overpowered army (probably the only AI armies that can hurt a stack like this are those with 8 family members back by 2 additional reinforcement armies), while the AI (scotland) was mainly a huge mass of pikemen that were cannon fodder against Janissary Musketters. Still I got heroic victory.

Me playing as.. Denmark I believe, and a jihad was called upon "London" - one of my great cities, perhaps I'd made it my Capital.

anyway, the Moors, Egyptians, and Turks -- all showed up within a few turns with huge armies - 3 large armies from Egypt, 1 extremely powerful & large turkish army, and 2 veteran armies from the Moors also very strong.

It was in Darth Mod -- I was proud because, I'd never seen such dedication by the Moslem AI and against so far a target (mind you, in darth mod the movement points are about double that of vanilla).
