The One Ring and Sauron - in game

Have some questions about the Ring in game play.

Playing as Dale:

The Ring ended up in Rhun Mistrand which I seiged and took. My general acquired the Ring but end of turn it was stolen. Is there any way help prevent it's theft?

The Ring later ended up in Harad Umbar, who happened to declared war on Rhun and finish the faction off. An invasion of Umbar is called and Moria seiges and now controls the region. This prompts a message than they now have the Ring and are taking it to Sauron. Is the Ring being taken to him by a general and could I have intercepted him?

Sauron emerges with a fat stack of Uruks and Olog-Hai and calls for an invasion of Gondor's Minas Tirith. (I had just liberated the city and sold it back to Gondor). So how does one best take out the Dark Lord with mid level troops?

in short,ring stolen is random, better general helps

according to FAQ, seems u cant intercept ring being taken to Sauron

For last question, sally out, use archers and generalssss charge? or catapult them ?? seems good
