    sorry if there is another topic dedicated to that, i didn't find it.
    i do not limit this topic to just one unit.

    it's mainly about the themata taxeis from byzanteum, byzantum arrived in the southern part of france, and started to launch attack on northern spain (where aragon/I is). i don't know how they got there.

    but, the main thing is that themata taxeis are 120, 1attack/10defense/6charge and bonus against cavalry. my feudals sergeants have 1attack/11defense/6charge, and are 80!!

    i didn't check in the campaign but in the custom battle, feudals sergeants would cost 400florins, while taxeis costs 360!!!

    i got mad in front of my computer (i was playing in very hard) and i had much difficulties to counter the themata taxeis waves although i use feudals sergeants and knights.

    Just open the file: export_descr_units.txt (EDU) located in chivalry/data folders, there try to find this byzanthine unit and find the line where it calls: soldier name, number, ..., ...

    Then change simply the number to the same what the feudal seargants have, ie. from 30 (byzanthine) to 20 european feudal seargants), if this is the standard number setting.
    Note, these numbers in the EDU reflect the numbers if the unit-seize is set on Normal, that means, 20 or 30 is the troop-number on unit-seize Normal, as said if these are for example the standard settings there. With every step increased unit-seize, this number will be doubled.
    I assume you are playing on Large or Very Large, if you set this byzanthine unit on 20, then they will have the same troop number as your feudal seargants.

    Infantry will scatter if you charge and recharge with cavalry often enough.

    Some troops are ment to be supperior, you also havn't looked at morale, perhaps the bynzantinum troops break easier than yours.

    That's right, these byzantine unit breaks quite easy.
    Morale is a substantial property in the battles, absolutely right!

    actually, the only way to defeat them is either outnumbering them 2:1, either breaking their line.
    but i can't always do it, and in trying to hold the line, i always loose, being outnumbered. i've killed thousands of them, more come, they're real slavs!!!(just kidding).

    this was mainly for the modders, critisizing the balance.

    personally, i got mad on this, i finally started a new campaign in hard as sicily.
    i had the choice between losing in auto-battle, or CTD in manual-battle... on a few but very important battles as i was a small kingdom (spain).
