Probably be the same as RTW, since it is using the RTW engine. It would be nice to see the return of an extra ring wall, and blistias and cannons mounted on towers like in MTW. And i am pretty sure that new cities cannot be built, it would be hard to implement in the RTW engine. But, however, castles can be turned into cities, so in a way you can build new cities actually, but this will cost alot.

Shaun, I guess Filip_bre meant that will we be able to build stuff like we can build Forts and Watch Towers in RTW. I hope we will be able to build walls on borders but I doubt. I also don't think we will be able to found new cities or castles.

Doubt we'll see walls becoming as buildable as watchtowers. Would have been fun fighting a wall battle in RTW, though...keeping out those hordes!

In MTW2 cities/castles are the same thing as settlements in RTW. So you cannot build more instead you just change a city to a castle or a castle to a city.

They will probably have towers and forts similar to RTW but I have not read anywhere that they will be included.

It made sense in RTW because it was something Roman Legions were known for, therefore it was unique. In MTW2, I prefer forts not to be included, don't really care about towers. I mean, everytime you're marching around, regardless of your faction, you can pitch camp and bam, double the defense. It'd be the ultimate cheese; forts everywhere you go. It took a while for another professional military comparable to the Romans to emerge in Europe.

That's true, I agree. I might say that castles are the forts of Medieval age.

Well I'm pretty sure towers and forts are buildable in MTW2.
It was a nice feature that I see no reason to remove.

It was a good feature, but one that I never really used, and didnt use it in RTW as I just never found use for it.

It will probably retun in MTW2, though I highly doubt that walls will be included, as the game is based on a modified RTW engine, and so would be too hard to implement I should think.

It would make for some fun battles though, armies fighting just to get into provinces

True but mainly because it was of the weak AI.
I mean there was no real point in building forts since the AI never attacked them anyway, they just went around and towers had a too little effect to be worth it.
The tower thing can easily be fixed by increasing the range and hopefully the AI will be smart enough to attack forts in MTW2

The AI would regularly attack my forts in RTW. Mind you, i teneded to use them to block passes, so i guess they didn't have the option of going round!

MTW2 shouldn't have marching camps like RTW, but it would be good to have different grades of watchtower (the first like the ones in RTW, then upgrading so troops can be placed in them, then upgraded to stone etc).
