    Default Multiplayer campaign basics

    Greetings NTW multiplayers,

Is there a FAQ or guide written up anywhere for the TWC community about this revolutionary new feature, how it works, what's involved, what you need to know about before you buy the game? I looked all over trying t figure out how to play multiplayer campaigns in ETW, and what mods work for it but it seems like that's a lost dream. I don't even own NTW but a couple friends and I are looking for a solid game to play together, and it seems this is the first offering by CA to come through on this front.

I read about Napoleonic Total War III, is that still one of the mods best optimized for MP campaign play? Are there others recommended?

No, no Corsican has out tongue just you posted in a rather dead forum. But NTW3 is the best for MPC. For tactics if you want to win and don't care what your friends think about you then follow these few simple steps.

    1. Try and bluff sure it sounds obvious that it may never work but don't do it at the beginning wait a few turns then initiate the "you ready for so and so assault on so and so" surprisingly a lot of people fall for this.
    2. If you know there going to take a province of yours sell it to an ally of yours or an enemy of theirs. You get free money and your troops are still safe.
    3. Alway's pay off another nation to place a trade embargo on your enemy.
    4. Raid trade routes.
    5. Do scorched earth, if you can't sell the province or don't want to destroy all the buildings when they are going to take it. Rendering the province useless for a few turns.

There are more but I have to go to work.

Selling provinces is a lame way to play. Fight it out. Fuzzy only has one rule when it comes to MPC's...don't play underworld or you will get walloped. also are you sure NTWIII has the ability to play MP campaigns? I heard it was still in the works....

    How does it work exactly?

Set time limits for turns and just wait? Then both play simultaneously during battles?

As I said I don't even own NTW! I'm the point man here trying to find out how it all works before a bunch of us go out and buy it and find out it has problems, such as the ETW multiplayer mode which never seemed to work from what I gather.

it is one of my favorite games. I would recommend it, although the multiplayer campaigns with mods have not been fully worked out yet, as the modders have to do all the work themselves since CA/SEGA won't release modding tools.

ETW campaign multiplayer is broken and unplayable, while I find the NTW one the best one ( by the playability ), even better than Shogun 2's MPC which gets constant drops and desynchs. Unfortunatelly, in NTW, there is no coop mode, except in the DLC Spanish Campaign, which is in my oppinon also the best NTW campaign singleplayer and multiplayer wise.

Aha, thank you! So if we want to play together, we need NTW's Spanish campaign for that?

Otherwise playing against friends in campaign works well... good. We're much more interested in NTW if anything because we're counting on there being mods playable in MP campaign mode by now, it seems like there aren't. Do you know of any that work at all?

There will be soon, if not already. In the current MPC you can play against eachother (europe/eygpt/italy) or play a coop (spain). The modders recently became able to mod in MPC's and are working to add them into the mods as we speak ( I think some have succeeded.)

That's great news. I guess I'll start keeping a closer eye on the NTW mod threads here.

One last thing, since I don't own NTW and can't just load it up and see -- can 2 people play a random campaign together as well, choosing any factions? Or must MP campaigns be one of the 4 listed (europe/eygpt/italy) or play a coop (spain) campaigns?

not sure what you mean by this? In the europe campaign you can play as england, france, prussia, russia, austria. In eygpt; ottomans & french. In italy: austria and france. In spain: france england spain and portugal.

Well I found the answer you just need to change a value in the save file it s awesome !
But I still need to know if we can change the limit ( and how ) for the reinforcement to join the battle currently reinforcement arrive when your army is < 20 units even with 40 units per stack I would like to set the limit to < 40 units.

    Anyone has an idea ?
