Default Questions: Aragon, The Ring and the white Council

I must start by applauding this wonderful new version, thank you so much for the mod.

After getting my victory as gondor in v3.1, i continued playing to explore new contents and I have the following questions and would be most grateful for answers:

    1. how to make aragon king?
Well, old denethor has died peacefully, aragon is a great general (max exp) in harrad lands...
(aragon died becoz of old age eventually, nth happened)

    2. The ring
in post victory turns (modor dead), 1 of my general (wth spy attached) acquired the ring after conquering a city (Dunebad?? NW of isangard), i tried to move him into my long conquered modor to destroy the ring, while half way through rohan, i accept the event of white council.

The question is, while nearly arriving the white council (3 turns away), the ring was stolen?! (nice surprise btw) so i wonder
    1) how to protect the ring? (move wth full stack/more generals?)
    2) how to find goloum? (coz the event say the ring was stolen by him)

    many thanks

and once again thanks for the great work, love to see this nearly perfect mod further perfect itself in coming updates~~

Ok so I'm gonna try n do my best here to help ya!

    1. Aragorn can only become king by playing Baron's submod. Otherwise you simply have to kill of family members until he is your faction leader, and even then he would be "Steward Aragorn".

    2. As far as ring being stolen can't help ya much there, though my best guess is (here's where gollum comes in) is that after a certain number of turns with him as an ancillary he steals it. Usually seems like about after 5 or so turns with the ring your general acquires Gollum as an ancillary. From what I know there's no way to "find" him. Just have to wait until you get a message saying the ring has been found in "X" settlement.

o i see, many thanks for the help

    its interesting then
    1. the ring shows up in a random settlement
    2. u got the settlement and got the ring
    3. have to wait a few turns for the white council event (golum might already there)
    4. u accept the mission (or golum starts here?)
    5. take usually at least a few turns to Imadris

so... since you will loose the ring in a few turns after golum shows up...does it makes the mission an impossible one?

btw...i checked the safe...seems there is no golum traits before the golum event (not sure tho)

Hmmm ya I see what you're saying, I honestly can't say for certain. It's one of those things I don't really pay attention to and just do lol. It's probably some type of random event then. And the likelihood is based upon the generals stats or something. So a lesser general is more likely to have the ring stolen and vice versa. But like I said I don't know for sure.

Can't be impossible, I've made it to the white council before lol. But I suppose I was already in the misty mtns when it happened (ring was in goblin town).

From what I've heard, there's a chance Gollum will steal the ring everytime you click on the general that has it.(or perhaps open character scroll, I'm not sure) So avoid that as much as possible I would say.

Everytime you click his character there is a small chance to get it stolen.

The best way to avoid this is giving the ring to a general with low command (get both generals in the same army, open the char info with the ring, then drag the "one ring" trait to the card of the general you want to transfer it to). Afterwards get him in an army with another general with higher command. This way you can move the ring around and you never lose it.

Or you could give the ring to someone who has 7 ancillaries to stop Gollum from becoming one.
"I, Pinkie Pie, declare that these treats are fit for a king, or a queen, or a princess!"
"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"
