I was just wondering about the new "villages" that appear all over the new 3.1 campaign map.
For an example picture of one of these villages, see this thread :
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...3#post10766993
and click on the section : "The region of Bree is a nice target for now. Plenty of stuff to steal here:" ...
(you can see one of them just North of the Witch Kings army, i.e North-East of Bree).
Ok, so,
In Empire : Total War, there are resources (farms, mines etc) outside the settlement that can be trashed / temporarily destroyed when an enemy army enters them.
Also, in Medieval 2 : Total War, (and consequently TATW), when an enemy army camps in a territory, it damages the economy / production for that region, as indicated by the spoiled grey area we see on ther campaign map.
My question is, are these villages just for a bit of colourful decoration for the map?
Or can you actually harm a regions economy MORE by camping your army in one of these villages, as opposed to just anywhere in the region?
Surely a script can be made to reduce production by a certain amount when one of these is occupied...
This would add more strategy to the game, which currently focuses on settlements alone.
So, just a thought... it would be good to hear what others think of this.![]()
