I did this illustration (this is a crop) in a five hour trance last night. Sky is the limit as to where I can go with the piece. Tell me what you think in terms of historical accuracy and quality of the illustration.

What's with her left arm?
I wanted to show that she had muscle toning while remaining fuller elsewhere. A bit spindly, though, you'd agree?

It seems she has an anorexic arm not muscular![]()
And she was actually pretty ugly and bulky in real life if you're going for historical accuracy
Honest evaluation of the illustration? The perspective is all messed up and the body proportions are all wrong. The composition of it is also weird; its kinda hard to tell what she is doing... is she sitting side saddle, the legs are pointed in a weird manner and the arms are kinda odd as well. Is she jumping off the horse? If you want to continue improving I would definitely suggest looking into drawing techniques revolving around the human body in motion and body proportions. It's quite obvious from the illustration that no intermediate steps were taken with the drawing and you just started straight with the pencil outline.
She's sitting side-saddle. Matter of fact, although I didn't spend that much time on the illustration, plenty of intermediate steps were taken, from fully nude gesture to shadowing and four weight toning, they're not readily apparent because it was scanned in as a bit-map with very low saturation (still this is an odd comment as you can still see the under drawing) as the copier didn't have their act together. You'd probably like the original art better and your observations are appreciated though. Wasn't intended to be a gospel body study.
