Default Reply to the Iranian President

    Dear President Ahmadinejad,

I, a citizen of the United States, would like to reply to your message to President Bush. As a registered voter here in the United States, unlike the average citizen of your esteemed country, hold the real power in this country. As such I am qualified to respond to the comminique to President Bush.

Honored President I agree with you that the pursuit of science and technology is a noble task. A task that all peoples should devote energy too. We would like nothing more than to become a partner in these efforts with the ingenious scientists of Iran, but at this time such cooperation is impossible. It is my goal in this reply to tell you what would be required for our two great nations to foster a spirit of cooperation rather than distrust.

First, in order to increase trust between our nations, we ask you to formally recognize that the Holocaust of the Jewish people in Europe occurred. Doing this will show the entire world that your goal is peaceful and your conflict with the State of Israel is a simple political rivalry and not result in a disatorous armed conflict between your nation and Israel. By denying the Holocaust you are giving the impression that the conflict is an idealogical one in which armed conflict is a definite possibility.

Next, to achieve our goal we ask that you start negotations with the State of Israel and work diplomatically to end the conflict in that troubled area in a way that is mutually beneficial to all sides. That action will further demonstrate that Iran is a nation of peace and diplomacy that is attempting to cure the troubles and increase stability in the Middle East.

Third, we ask that you cease in your efforts to assist the counter-Iraqi Parliament forces in Iraq. Those forces are increasing instability in a nation that so desires stability and peace. If your support continues for these forces then nothing besides distrust may exist between Tehran and Washington.

Fourth, we implore that you allow those of other religions live freely in Iran. Doing so will prove to the world that you are not a theocracy. Also, you surely must not be afraid that if people choose other religions they would choose something besides Shi'ite Muslim, thus it is strange to see you do not allow them a choice.

Fifth, increase the rights of the people of Iran. Allow women to ride on the same elevator as men, and have the same rights as men. Allow your people a right to voice their opinion. Doing so will not make you weak, rather it shall make you stronger.

Throughout all I hope that the great states of Iran and the United States may live in peace. I hope we should grow together in peace. We hope that the grandchildren of the current generation of Americans and the grandchildren of the current generation of Iranians may grow up seeing one another as the greatest of friends.

I like it, even if it does seem to demand more than request. But nothing wrong with that if it is true, although in diplomacy normally a demand is if you are in a position do actually back it up.

You may want to revise that since they are, admittedly, a theocracy and they know that they are a theocracy.

In my opinion, no compromise can be made with Iran. They have done and are doing too much to aid the terrorists.

You know that people who are 16 in Iran can vote, right?

Edit - Also, the letter comes off condescending and arrogant with what seems are demands. Counter productive when it comes to winning the hearts and minds of the Arab/Muslim world.....

Dear Citizen of the United states,

I, a citizen of TWC, would like to reply to your message to President Ahmadinejad. As a registered voter here in the TWC, unlike many citizens of your country who somehow keep missing the elections in Florida, especially if they are black, I hold the real power in this website. As such I am qualified to respond to the communique from citizen Farnan.

Honored Citizen I agree with you that the pursuit of science and technology is a noble task. A task that all peoples should devote energy too. We would like nothing more than to become a partner in these efforts with the ingenious scientists of the US, but at this time such cooperation is impossible. It is my goal in this reply to tell you what would be required for our two great nations to foster a spirit of cooperation rather than distrust.

First, in order to increase trust between our nations, we ask you to formally recognize that the CIA overturned the democratically elected government of Mossadek and brought a dictatorial regime to our land. Doing this will show the entire world that your goal is peaceful and your covert and overt interventions are a thing of the past and will not result in a disastrous armed conflict between your nation and any other(s). By denying that the US has overthrown democratically elected goverments you are giving the impression that the conflict is an idealogical one in which armed conflict is a definite possibility.

Next, to achieve our goal we ask that you start negotations with the State of Venezuela and Cuba and work diplomatically to end the conflict in that troubled area in a way that is mutually beneficial to all sides. That action will further demonstrate that US is a nation of peace and diplomacy that is attempting to cure the troubles and increase stability in South America.

Third, we ask that you never repeat your efforts to assist the counter-democracy forces as you did in Iraq by aiding Saddam, in Nicaragua and Salvador and currently in Saudi Arabia . Those forces were and still are increasing instability in nations that so desires stability and peace. If your support continues for these forces then nothing besides distrust may exist between the World and Washington.

Fourth, we implore that you allow gay people to get married if they want to. Doing so will prove to the world that you are not a theocracy. Also, you surely must not be afraid that if people choose to be Atheist, so please take the "one nation under..." out because it is strange to see you do not allow them a choice.

Fifth, increase the rights of the people of US. Allow everyone to protest theri right to work and clean up the mess of employers like WalMart and MCDonalds that trear the emplyees like animals. Also take measure for stopping contriburtors to your two main parties from getting away with other people's money.

To compare the US with Iran in the Human Rights is like comparing Nazi Germany to...Greece. Sure some human rights issues exist, but that is the same with every nation on the planet.

In jest dear friend. I was merely pointing out the many ways in which such a letter could be deemed absurd by the recipient. The original letter was preaching by President Ahmadinejad to the other muslim countries and never really targeting to appeal to Bush...

I just one question: If using diplomacy with Iran is so important to him, why did he "throw away" and fail to respond to the first communication with Iran in 27 years?

Umm...that letter was not really meant as a serious pretext to diplomacy.

Are you ever going to let that go? Bush doesn't have to reply to a stupid letter if he doesn't want to. Hes the fricken President of the strongest country in the world for Christs sake!!!
The letter wasn't even that important to begin with. Iran has shown that their unwilling to compromise.

I know. Of course President Ahmadinejad would rip it up and curse the bigot americans if he ever even read it. I am afraid that sending him a letter like that would come across as "high and mighty" by many Iranians much less the President who clearly hates America.

    Point taken :original:
