So I am playing as England and I have a cardinal that's fairly low on the list. I have an assassin that's in the general area of Rome, so I send him down there to have a bit of fun. I actually managed to assassinate the Pope, but obviously I can't get my guy in yet, so I vote for my preferred one. He doesn't get it, so I decide to assassinate the new pope and repeat. My preferred guy doesn't get in, so I assassinate again, and again, and again...I killed seven Popes in a row, and only missed an assassination attempt once. It's down to five cardinals cause the new Popes didn't have enough time to promote any priests to the position of Cardinal.
Finally, I managed to realize that the reason my guy wasn't getting in (after eliminating the preferati that I had preferred with another assassin) was because Milan, who had two votes (out of now five cardinals) was at war with me. I made peace, managed to get my relationship with them to "perfect" and guy was finally elected.
Would this be considered cheating? Lol. My question is, what would have happened if I had kept going and assassinated every last cardinal and the Pope...?
Anyway, what other fun things have people done in messing with the game?
