On start I get "insert original disk" message

Install onto Win 7 64bit, UAC off.

When selecting Ring symbol I get "insert original disk instead of backup " I`ve got the (retail) disk already inserted. What can I do?

Did you download the correct patch for Medieval? There are different ones for different regions. E.g. Britain has another patch than USA.
IIRC that's what responsible for your problem.

I have M2TW and kingdoms install from retail disks bought in UK. Vanilla has not been patched. Occasionally it reads the disk (Kingdoms). This non-reading happens with Stainless Steel mod too.
Is the fact that I`ve not applied any patches causing the prob. I installed all of the above (SS 6.1) and TATW 2.1 under XP and all was OK

Supplementary question.

Finally got it working by running Launcher and Third Age and the Alt-Tabbing out M2TW music I get TATW-God knows how....

Anyway on the Options screeen it says Third Age 3.1 and top right it says Ver 1.o4. What does this signify.
