Icon10 A request for the FATW team:

    Hello guys.
This mod is one of the best i've played.
But i want to ask you something: Can you please post in this tread a newer patch of the game or a archive which has dwarfs ,or elves or dale (best to have the firt two) as playable factions.
I would really like to put those factions to the test.
Please if someone has them as playabl;e with buildings, traits and correct anciliaries for them please post it here for me and others o try it.
Thx the team for great mod and i hope someone can help me.
    Cheers!

The complete version is not finished yet, but will soon.

First of all - thanks for enjoying the mod!

As Thangaror said regarding your request, we're on it (and have been for the last 2+ years ). You can expect a complete, highly detailed and very accurate experience of Middle-earth in the next release, which is coming to completion now (albeit slowly, if for nothing else because of the workload it entails). Look to the forum above with the stickies: Our two video dev diaries and the WIP Screenshot thread will give you a clue what we are up to and have already done.
I read this so called Bible, and found it to be a third rate story in which this so called 'jesus' is nothing more than a shameless lampooning of Brian, which has inspired joy and laughter in millions.

    Good.Good.
    That's amazing.Thx for quick answer.
I shall await for the next release and i think, from what i have seen on the forum, that this shall be the best RTW mod ever (in my opinion).
Oh and another question ,if you wish to answer that shall be great: Does the next release shall have the battle models of towns likt LOTR TW or the same that are now(in the wars of men)?
Thx again for great mod and i hope you shall post soon the next release of the mod.

We have taken permission to use custom battlemap models, but tailoring them to our mod is not as simple as it may sound. The intention though is indeed to make changes in that aspect as well, yes.

    Seconded!
I'm away from friends, family, my bike and decent TV for the next seven months!
So I need something to do (besides my pathetic trials to make a Second Age mod and working 12 hours a day) and a game that runs on my crappy notebook.

EDIT: May Ilúvatar bless the internet.

As a policy the FATW team has never given a release date and will never do so. Actually Aradan hoped that the full mod will be released in November (before Skyrim came out ) but as you see yourself the team wasn't able to cope with this expectation.

You also should know that the FATW team is very small compared to most other mods. Right now only Aradan and Éorl are 'full-time modders' of FATW.

I for one think that every day that has been spent on developing FATW will improve the game.

    'full-time modders'
Truth be told, I was barely a full-time modder during the past 5 or so months due to work. Thankfully, this has changed now.

A "Victory Conditions" building at the same 'slot' (first, before any real buildings) in every settlement is actually a lot less immersion-breaking than a unit-size marking building at a random slot.

Only because I keep adding stuff. The original DoM was supposed to be a 9-factions thing similar to TNS mechanics-wise, and not this monster we ended up doing.

CountMRVHS is also a full-time contributor, doing most of our text work. Text-work is often overlooked, but it takes a ridiculous amount of time to write original text that's immersive and of high quality.

I for one think that every day that has been spent on developing FATW will improve the game.
    That's the intention.

    This. All day, every day.

As I personally prefer playing with huge unit size, I was wondering if DoM will be tailored to be played on medium unit size settings (as WoM and VI2 iirc)? Or will DoM use somekind of script to replenish the AI's population when it recruits units, thus allowing to play with any unit size without unbalancing the game?

I made my own additional pop-growth EDBs for VI2 and WoM to be able to use huge units, but I hope that won't be necessary for DoM. Especially with the new battle-map environments I'm virtually forced to use huge units.

    Yours hopefully.

The mod will be tailored for large (2x normal), but the AI will get some bonuses that will allow it to cope with huge as well. The player, I'm sure, can manage his population better.

Spawning an indestructible building in every settlement at campaign-start through a script was a thought, but it would look messy (a building in every settlement called "HUGE UNIT SIZE" breaks immersion a lot)...

Doesn't RS2 have a feature that replenishes the population without the need for a specific building? Anyhow, I surely don't want a HUS-building popping up in my settlements.

The above part is great news, and what I was hoping for. Thanks guys!

There is still work to be done. And even when it's done, we'll need some time for balance-testing and bug-hunting. Bugs creep in even the most diligently-coded mods, especially if they are complex.
