AA for specific application

Hi guys, i just had a copy of medieval gold and started it with XL total war. Played about 3 hours without problems with 1024x768 both on battlemap and campaign, then suddenly got a freeze on the campaign map followed by a ctd ( error said about an access violation ). Restarted game and got it again after 20 min. playing.

I know that someone counter these ctd by forcing the game to run in antialiasing, but since my ati control panel doesn't let me set the specifics for each application but only set it generally ( i set AA and click on apply but i don't know if this forces medieval to run with antialiasing ).

I tried with older catalysts too ( 6.2 ) but they aren't supported by my OS ( win xp 32bit ). Direct x is 9.0c. If someone can explain me something about this i would be grateful thx.

Hi, i just managed to make the game working correctly by installing 6.8 catalyst, setting 800x600 on the strategy map and AA to 4x ( don't know wich of these made the game working ). Even the loading screen time became faster now, from half a minute to 15 seconds. Great!
