Access Denied

I have accessed C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign and then the desc. strat files. However once I have edited the file to unlock all factions, I cannot save. It simply says Access Denied. I am the only user on this computer and therefore am the computer administrator so I cannot see how this is a problem. It did say the folder was read-only but I went into the properties and unticked this box... Help ?

Is the game running in the background while you try to edit the files?

Moved from M2TW Tech to Eras Tech.

As a rule I keep games away from both program files folders (Windows 64 bit gets two) by having my own 'program files' folder. All games are installed there including Steam (and therefore all it's games).

Anyway, Resolved & Closed.
