joining a crusade
when an army of mine joins a crusade, am i responsible for getting that army to the target settlement??

Yes, once you join the crusade it is your duty to get those men and take the settlement, don't worry you get more movement points in a crusade army. The only drawback is the fact that if barely make any progress in movement, then men will desert and those men will not come back, but on crusade there are special mercenaries you can hire to help you and replace any deserters.

Yes you are. And if you move it in the wrong direction, your troops will desert. However, no other Catholic fraction can attack that army (except for excomm'd fractions) and you won't get any diplomatic penalties for moving it through other Catholic lands (normally you would need either military access or an alliance with that fraction).
