New Map, why oh why?

Why did CA create a new map for RTW ALEX? Really, there was nothing wrong with the old RTW map.

As you can see, The bottom of Greece is just a blob, and it looks like they missed out the Western area of Greece. Cyprus and Crete no longer have settlements on them either, whcih considering that the map is set around the Eastern Mediteranian is just, frankly, lazyness.
There are also less provs, so expect something like "Norther Greece" for a prov name, and "Macedonia" as well.
So then, why did CA create a new map?

But they could have easily cropped the map, and just tacked a bit on, not too hard, and a lot less time consuming.
