Ever had something weird happen that's just too good not to share? This thread is where you post your strange in game occurrences that leave you saying....." what"? Or " Oh no he Didn't"

In my most recent game, around turn 50, Dorne was destroyed without fighting a single battle. The whole Kimgdom just turned into rebels. It started with Dorans death which I guess happened in a natural disaster, but after that no other deaths were announced and 10 turns later Dorne is a destroyed faction. What?

Another time a rebal general named Beric Dondarrian died, twice! To make matters worse, when I tried to kill him a second time, the game CTD when I attacked him. Oh no he didn't!

    What have you guys seen?

There was this one time that a bunch of rebels attacked Last Hearth. I sent some troops after them, but they lost - and I swear that the rebel army got bigger! I only defeated them when I started using flaming arrows. Weird.

    just kidding

I may have an explanation for this one.
IIRC in 0.53 the red viper is the Faction heir. If Quentin dies before him and Doran dies after him, You will see an only death message. Then when Oberyn dies (10 turns later) nobody can be the faction heir (no Family members) so no death message (wich due to game mechanics comes when a new heir is appointed, not when the leader is actually dead). Moreover the entire Family tree is wiped out. Result: Dorne turns rebel.
I admit this is weird, but is the only explanation I can find.

In one of my earliest games, the Mountain That Rides somehow managed to win a heroic victory against a full stack of House Tully, led by the Edmure, with only himself, his bodyguard and two units of light cavalry. I was like "What The Duce?" but then I realised it was in fact The Mountain That Rides, and just assumed he had steamrolled the entire Tully army

If you want strange then look at the Martell family tree ingame. Elia Martell aparantly died peacefully
"I, Pinkie Pie, declare that these treats are fit for a king, or a queen, or a princess!"
"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

I know but it is stiill pretty funny.
Everything I am doing with the Martells is based on her death and now I find out she was at peace when Ser Gregor Clegane smashed her face in.

Got a new one. In the same game that Dorne died without fighting......So did I.

I fought and won every battle. Took the West, took the stormlands, took the Reach, was taking Dorne when Robb King in the North died from being sick without any heirs. Why no heirs? Cause Bran died like 15 turns before and the computer never asigned another heir. Knowing this game is obssessed with snickness and kills half your armies in cities with snickness, I kept Robb out of cities and only had him go into them to take a city. He took Old Town, didnt even say in the city for one turn, and got sick and died the next turn turning the whole map I conquered into rebals. OH NO HE DIDNT!

Long story short, that game is dead now, and I am turning off sickness. This game has way too many people die from sickness. Way too many.

I call it bad luck. That's why it is always sensible to accept at least one adoption.

if i understood correctly, in the new version , let's say all the Starks are dead, one could continue playing as Bolton or Umber etc ..
(even though your faction is still gonna be called "House Of Stark")

Player won't be anymore able to claim the Iron Throne or become King in the North, but at least you won't lose an interesting campaign just because your strongest house's bloodline got eliminated or because the next heir, in this case Rickon, will most probably never come of age in the given timeframe..You'll be able to continue and "win" as a local Lord (Paramount of sorts)

I think Roose Bolton should take control after the Starks and be faced with massive rebellions in The North when they take command.

well that's relative..whenever a Bloodline gets eliminated (or the only heir is really underage, like for example Robin in the Vale) the highest authority general will become "regent" or something..so if, let's say in the North, the Stark bloodline get s eliminated and Manderly has the highest authority among the other generals then he will become the ruling house..

about rebellion etc i don't know, maybe kiliç would be of more help to what you're asking (i'm no coder..)

    ps
in future versions there might be emergent factions , if "certain conditions" are met
