    Default How to increase moral?

    Hi All

Ive only played a few hours but i love this mod already! To give it long term playability i need the battles to last longer & ive heard people talking about modding the moral of the units & if its not to difficult, i am hoping someone can give me instructions on how to do this.
Also turning the units speed down would make the game much better also, is this easy to do?

Thanks guys, and thanks C:TW team!

Modding moral is easy. modding speed may be, if I'm thinking of the right thing.
For moral do this: go to your "data" folder in you "Rome-Total War" folder and find a text file entitled "export_descr_unit". Now find the unit(s) that you want to change the moral for. On all of these unit's description there will be a line that says "stat_mental". The first number in that line (it may be the only number) is their moral. The higher it is, the less likely they are to break and run.
Now for speed, it depends on which speed you are talking about. There are two lines in "expor_descr_unit" that start with "stat_pri" and "stat_sec". The last number in each of these lines is the minimum delay between attacks for unit in 1/10 of a second. So if you changed it from 1 to let's say 5, then the units should wait one half second between each attack. The result should be a slower battle.

I would just like to remind everyone here not to post any edu's. For the moment we're trying to make it as multiplayer compatible for everyone, at least until they know what they're doing when they change things like this. So if you want to share your files with someone do it by PM and make sure you both understand to keep a backup for MP (even if you don't play it at the moment). Also if you want to see the changes in the official mod then you can send it to one of the devs and we can test it in private and perhaps accept some of the changes.

    Thanks for understanding guys :original:

If you want a small mod to increase morale pm me. I have also reduced unit speeds a bit and doubled attack values (just so that spearman do kill archers now more effectively. Creates mor of a challenge)

I have tripled morale with the caligula unit editor. I can send you the files if you give me your e-mail. In agreement with team opinion I shall not post those files here publicly.
