Need some advice please

This problem started the day before yesterday. when i start a game it runs for about 5-10 minutes. then out of nowhere the pc just shuts down. it happens with any game, but if i just work on word or search the net it works fine for hours. could ti be software or hardware problem? i'm not very good with computers so please have pattience with me

it gives no notification at all just shuts down? any advice?

Try scanning your computer for viruses. I would sugguest Avast! antivirus and Lavasoft Ad-Aware, you can find them by googling their names. Let them scan your computer and then try again.

Also, have you added any mods onto your game? Or have you downloaded or installed anything recently?

Zuwxiv thaks for the responce. it happens not only with rtw but all games. cheking for viruses now. friend suggested that maybe the video card or processor is getting overheated, so maybe will have to go to the service

Exactly.

That sounds like alot of Video Card/Processor problems i've heard of before. Though it also could be the PSU (Power Supply) if it isnt supplying enough power, then the computer cannot perform up to par.

Do you know what your Proccessor & Video Card is?

At this point - it could be anything. Does your PC always restart? Or does it freeze as well? Are you getting the Blue Screen before it reboots?

I would suggest that it would be overheating of the graphics card / cpu.

If it does it on all games and not when doing other things then its somehting that involves the processor more and therefore it would overheat.

Did the problem start after you did something to the computer or added some harware ect ?

thanks for all of your fast responces. after all i went to the service and they changed the cpu fan. the old was getting brownish

obviously the last few hot days here made the problem because i haven't installed new things. hopefully the new ,ore powerfull fan will last through the summer and heated desert battles that await me

Restarts are typically CPU heat issues.
If the power supply is lacking, it crashes pretty soon as you go to 3D mode (switching from desktop to game).
If you get artefacts in your screen (tearing, blurring, skewing of images) it's typically a GPU heat issue.
If it locks up it's typically a hard drive heat issue.
If it slows down a lot it's usually spy/adware.

So it really depends
