Default Need advice to pick a faction

After visiting this forum daily the last couple of months, I need some advice to choose a new faction.

The thing what I look in a faction is that I have 1 or 2 (or more ) elite unites that can make a difference to win a battle. So when the battle goes not well, you throw them in to give the final blow. Also infantry that can hold the line so I can use some cavalry tactics would be nice

Other things: location is not important and no Romans .

    Thanx in advance!

Britannia's Head hurlers and Chariots are both excellent and their Warbands and Chosen Swords are solid infantry in their respective eras. A very fun campaign.

Brittania as the above said and Germania...
In the early game u have the Spear Warband that are hoplite like units,to hold the line. But later they wont be enough...But still u have the Berserkers and the Gothic Cavalry who are both elite shock units. And yes you can change the course of the battle with one charge of them!Especially the berserkers...One or 2 of them can take out the whole enemy infantry and more if they dont throw javelins.
One of the most interesting campaigns in rtw imo.

Armenia, while not the best starting position, they have a strong roster. My second favorite. (I'm not allowed to suggest Rome) Their Heavy Spearmen are tough and can out perform quite a bit of Phalanx units, they also have Legionaires. So they have flexible infantry for different situations. They also have the almighty Cataphracts, the most powerful cavalry in the game. Equipped with a mace, they shred through armor. If Cataphracts weren't enough, they have Cataphract Archers too. All in all, they are a powerful faction. If Greek style armies are more your thing though, I recommend the Seleucids. They have a more infantry focused roster than Armenia, but keep similar units. Both have Cataphracts and Legionaires.
