Default Possibility to add dismounted knight orders

Is it possible to add the dismounted versions of the knight orders to Vanilla/Kingdoms. It is the only thing I really miss and specially templar/st. John.

Is there something like an easy mod for this to download or how can I do it myself. I really suck with modding so explain it to me like it is for dummies and also if it is a download, in which folder do I put in etc.

Thanx for all the help !

This look a bit difficult, is there not an easy way like a download?

Unfortunatly there is not another way. You need to work using such material, you have received.
It's not difficult. If you know what you doing
If you not - you need to start from much easier things.

    One more thing:
You also need to change models of units for dismounted version of units using lances.

There is an easier, albeit wrong, way.

    You NEED a formated model_db
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=196382
NOTE: If your using a mod you most likely already have a formated modeldb, it's easy to tell

Ok, now add this into your export_descr_unit.txt
    Code:
    type Dismounted Templar
    dictionary Knights_Templar ; Knights Templar
    category infantry
    class            heavy
    voice_type Heavy
    banner faction main_infantry
    banner unit templars
    soldier Dismounted_Templar, 48, 0, 1.2
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, hardy, can_withdraw
    formation 1.2, 1.2, 2.4, 2.4, 3, square
    stat_health 1, 0
    stat_pri 13, 3, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, sword, 25, 1
    ;stat_pri_ex 0, 0, 0
    stat_pri_attr no
    stat_sec 0, 0, no, 0, 0, no, melee_simple, blunt, none, 25, 1
    ;stat_sec_ex 0, 0, 0
    stat_sec_attr no
    stat_pri_armour 7, 8, 6, metal
    ;stat_armour_ex 7, 8, 0, 0, 8, 6, 6, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 5
    stat_ground 1, -2, 3, 2
    stat_mental 9, normal, trained
    stat_charge_dist 30
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 570, 225, 90, 70, 570, 4, 140
    armour_ug_levels 3
    armour_ug_models Dismounted_Templar
    ownership england
    ;unit_info 13, 0, 16
    recruit_priority_offset 0
Then in your FORMATTED battle_models.modeldb add in:
    Code:
    22 Dismounted_Templar
    1 4
    69 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/dismounted_feudal_knights_lod0.mesh 121
    69 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/dismounted_feudal_knights_lod1.mesh 900
    69 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/dismounted_feudal_knights_lod2.mesh 2500
    69 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/dismounted_feudal_knights_lod3.mesh 6400
    1
    7 england
    73 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/textures/EN_Lmail_Hmail_templar.texture
    81 unit_models/_Units/EN_Lmail_Hmail/textures/EN_Lmail_Hmail_crusader_normal.texture
    57 unit_sprites/england_Dismounted_Feudal_Knights_sprite.spr
    1
    7 england
    68 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Heater Special_england_diff.texture
    68 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Heater Special_england_norm.texture 0
    1
    4 None
    14 MTW2_Swordsman 0
    2
    18 MTW2_Sword_Primary
    14 fs_test_shield 0
    16 -0.090000004 0 0 -0.34999999 0.80000001 0.60000002
And voilą, Dismounted Templar knights available to England (for other factions you need to add the appropriate lines in the modeldb) these are the stats for dismounted feudal knights, adjust as you deem appropriate.

However, with this particular 'easy' method you have 3 glaring problems. 1; The unit card pic is the same as for the normal Templar, as is the written description, but the stats and soldier #'s are correct. 2; Your shields are slightly messed up, the alignment for the emblem is not always 100% so the shield will have some pretty funky designs, but it's not too dramatically awful. Finally 3; their 'sprite' meaning the display when zoomed out or far away, is that of normal dismounted feudal knights.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it matters or not, but, I placed the modeldb part right after the 'dismounted feudal' knights part:
    Code:
    60 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Heater_hungary_diff.texture
    60 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Heater_hungary_norm.texture 0
    1
    4 None
    14 MTW2_Swordsman 0
    2
    18 MTW2_Sword_Primary
    14 fs_test_shield 0
    16 -0.090000004 0 0 -0.34999999 0.80000001 0.60000002
    Here
    26 dismounted_english_knights
    1 3
    71 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/dismounted_english_knights_lod0.mesh 121
    71 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/dismounted_english_knights_lod1.mesh 1225
    71 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/dismounted_english_knights_lod2.mesh 6400

It's not the graphic but UV coordinates of your texture.

Oh, I know what is 'wrong' with the unit, I was just refering to the general quality, just an afterthought when I saw the pics. I figure this is about as close as you can get without art stuff (which I'm really REALLY bad at.) The messed up shield is better then a silly guy swinging a dis-jointed stick that half floated in the air then again, I suppose you could just make them spearmen...

The unit info scroll is easy to fix...just use a closeup screenshot of the unit in a custom battle use paint.NET to crop it to the right size and to paste it on an existing one and save as the name of your unit and your all set...as for the unit card I personally haven't made or edited these myself but if you find a mod that has them already you could ask the team to use it...that's how i got the Dismounted Teutonic Knights card....or you could read the tutorial about making them and try doing it yourself...
