Sound problems

I have a pair of ear phones, and suddenly it sounds like the left speaker just died. I mean, it still plays sound, but it's like really low and you can barely hear it, and it makes the sound coming from the speakers sound uneven, since the right speaker sounds louder and clearer while the left sounds quiet.

Is there a way to fix this? I have a Creative Audigy 2 EAX sound card by the way.

Try just resetting it to the default settings if you haven't fiddled with the settings before, use the sounds tab in your windows control panel and you will find the place to look.
It could be the headphones but I doubt it...my Creative card has similiar issues now and then.

i had this problem once before and i unplugged the headset and inserted it again and the problem was solved. try it

Check the panning settings in the volume manager. Check the physical connection. If it's driver based, reinstall the hardware and drivers.

If all do not improve the situation, it may be the hardware itself.
