Default Garrison Keillor: funny, not funny?

If you've ever listened to National Public Radio on a Saturday afternoon, you've probably heard Garrison Keillor's "Lake Woebegone Days." You've also probably heard the uproarious laughter by the audience after every sentence. I know that it's funny. But is it that funny?

Keillor's humor is patently dry. Listening to him is the gastrointestinal equivalent of swallowing sacks of salt. But it's the best salt that you've ever tasted. I've always been a fan of dry humor. But to me, dry humor isn't something to yell about. It's extremely clever and witty, but it's rarely "ha-ha" funny. Is there just something I'm not getting here? Have you actually read his book? Why does he make me angry? Tell your own Keillor stories here!

Personally, I can never get enough Guy Noir, Private Eye. That segment always has me laughing uproariously (usually when driving my car, which can be dangerous).
