    Default Unit speeds too fast?

    We've had some people saying that the unit speeds are too fast. So, as some very quick community research I think this would be a good topic to know the general thoughts of everyone who has played it.

    It was good,I felt a rush playing in the game and I didnt have any problems with the game speed.

    I'm proably one of the most vocal agitators of the "it's too fast" camp. So yes, slow things down.

    Just try this:

    open "Rome - Total War\Data", copy "descr_battle_movement_modifiers.txt" to "Rome - Total War\chivalry", then open and edit it:

    This are the parameters from the RTR Mod, works fine for me :wink:

    Units are a BIT too fast, but the kill rates and causultie ratios are spot on, its just that men walk a bit too fast, thats all.

    Yes, I think they are too fast. I love mass archers, but they got almost no dmg, and can barely shoot on once befre the enemy reaches my battleline. So in this mod, I will most likely have to stick to meele units.

    I donīt think the units move actually faster than in vanilla RTW, so I donīt complain. A tad slower wouldnīt hurt, but Iīm happy enough as it is.

    I think the infantry is tad too fast. Also, units do not tire quickly enough. I had a regiment of heavy cavalry which was running and fighting for more than 5 min and they only reached 'tired'(ie not very tired or exhausted).

    If the units tire quickly, it can give the player a huge advantage over the AI, which has a tendency to run everywhere, whether they are the defenders or not. Often times I've seen AI units running back and forth like idiots, and are exhausted by the time they engage in hand to hand combat.

    I said that they are all right. I love how fast they are, and their stamina is great too. But just make them a little less routable, and archers & catapults with a little more range and ammo and it should be great.
