Favorite Type of Music?

im sure this thread had been done before.. and i checked recently and i couldent find one.

So what is your favorite type of music?

I don't think this is a repeat... per se.

My favorite type of music is punk, generally. I also like other types of rock though.

edit: you can always make another thread with a poll, and ask a mod to close this one. I think a poll would be more interesting.

I generally prefer hard rock, which in of itself is a pretty broad category. To give some examples: Tool, Chevelle, Disturbed, System of a Down and the such. Though I will listen to other stuff, like some rap, some softer stuff like snowpatrol or dispatch.

I prefer bands like what LastRoman said. Well except SOAD and rap. I also listen to alot of country.

I'm also a fan of Hard Rock/Metal. Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Iron Maiden, Matallica, Guns N' Roses, and Motley Crue are my bread an butter.

Classical, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Bach, Tchaikovsky, I love it all.

I personally like Rock, and Hard rock, like System Of A Down, and AC/DC.

I prefer Classic Rock, and there's a good chance people will be able to guess which band in particular I am fond of. Other examples of bands I like are Queen, The Clash, and Cream. Oh, and I'll throw in Bob Dylan to give more than just classic rock.

Helter skelter defines their experimentation in that area, but are there really many other songs that could fit the description of 'heavy metal'? Revolution gets loud at times, but I don't think it qualifies. (I'll need somebody with an expertise in heavy metal to inform me here ) Rock and pop are probably the genres I would label them under. As for the others, you are correct, they incorporate various styles of music, but I posted 'classic rock' for the sake of simplicity.

The only problem with the Beatles is that you cannot classify them. They had heavy metal, rock, pop, classical, blues, doo-wop and a great deal of influence from Indian music.

They weren't so big on heavy metal; or, at least, not that I know of.

I didn't mean to say that they used it on more than one song, but Helter Skelter is notable in music history, being apparently the first heavy metal song. Therefore I think the Beatles also deserve that classification.
