The Production of Foreign Instruments of War

    And their following Mischievous use

In the city of Oxford the foundries began to work. Ore and coal were brought into the city by the wagon load, and the chimneys of the workshops began to emit noxious fumes furiously. The furrowed brows of the engineers and alchemists were hard at work while the brows of the workers were covered in sweat. What was beginning was an industrial climax for Oxford, to produce breakthrough weaponry, send it down the London canal and make a fortune. Personally overseeing construction was Master of the Engineers, Henry Baden, a German genius.

Declan comes to see the progress on the weapons. He finds Henry Baden and greets him with a handshake.

"Henry, how goes the work on the repeating crossbows? I am intrigued to see them."

In the beginning, Prometheus brought fire to man. Wrong move.

Henry looked up, his hands stained with the many substances used in the foundry,

"Ja.. Ja.. It is good, Sire Pendragon. However, they are not ready yet to see, for work hast only just begun."

"Ah, of course, of course. And the bombs?"

In the beginning, Prometheus brought fire to man. Wrong move.

When William heard of this, he was quite naturally infuriated. He was the sole producer of fine weapons and cannons in Oxfordshire, and he did not like the idea of a competitor, especially not a selfish one. So, a messenger was promptly sent away with a letter from Stafford...

I recently saw smoke coming out of the chimneys of the Oxford foundries. It gladdens me, of course, that the foundries are once again in production, but seing as I am the lord of Oxfordshire, it is my duty and responsibility to keep things under control, and thus I hereby order you to halt the production at once, until I have discussed this further with Lord Montgomery. If weapons are being crafted in the city of Oxford, all of Oxfordshire must gain from it, just like how all of the county gains from the constant production of cannons and weaponry at Thame.

    A letter arrives yet again...

    Sir,

I wish for you to present to me these laws, these letters patents and proof of this royal prerogative, until then, Oxford is not independent and will not enjoy any special privileges. The city of Oxford is not the family heirloom of the Montgomery house, nor is it the possession of the university. It is time for you to understand that.

I hereby order you to cease and desist.

The Bursar has no intention of doing so, and when the first Crossbow and bomb was made, put them on one of the horse-drawn barges and it began its journey down the canal. Guarded with a few City guards and with a magistrate to ensure its legal passage, the canal slowly exited the city and entered the countryside around.

And as the canal reached Shillingford, where it would join the river of Thames, they were stopped by a contingent of armed men, sent by Lord Stafford.

The Magistrate saw these men, the perfect place to stop as the barge became a river going vessel and the horses were removed..

    "Who are you?"

You have been ordered to cease and desist with the production, yet you attempt to smuggle out illegally crafted weaponry out from the city?

The leader of the men said, from atop his horse...

The weaponry will be confiscated at once.

He motioned for his men who quickly began to surround the caravan like group.

And as quick as a flash the flag of King Edmunds Land flies up the mast,

"Then you shall be committing treason."
