boot help

Hi Guys,

I am trying to install fedora on an HP vectra VL400 and it just wont boot from the cd, i have changed the boot device priority, tried other cds, tried other drives, the system just wont boot from anything other then the hard drive (which has an old copy of XP on it and needs to be formatted). At this point im kindof lost, and im not sure what else to do, any ideas?

try setting the boot priority to only cd and not anything else. what is fedora exactly? maybe it requires an empty hardrive?

its the machine, I unplugged the hard drive, it said there was no os, I made a boot disk, it ignored it. I tried my XP cd, again ignored it. I tried a different drive, nothing. The machine boots off the XP install that was left on the hard drive and can access the cd drive fine.

Got it, there were some security settings in the bios
